FLOOD BULLETIN #6.

RIVERINE FLOOD ALERT!

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service is continuing the riverine flood alert for
Trinidad, having regard to recent rainfall activity and the continuing risk posed from
resulting floods. As opposed to Street and Flash Flooding, Riverine Flooding is more
prolonged and widespread.

Reports from the Water Resources Agency and the Office for Disaster Preparedness and
Management indicate that even though water levels in the larger rivers and adjoining
tributaries have subsided to some degree, several districts in Northeastern, Central and
Southeastern Trinidad such as Sangre Grande, San Raphael, Brazil, Las Lomas, Kelly
Village, St Helena and Mafeking in Mayaro are still flooded.

Meteorological analyses, Forecasts and data obtained from Numerical Weather Prediction
Models indicate that pockets of rainfall activity are expected overnight and tomorrow
with rainfall accumulation likely to range between 0-5 millimeters over the next 24 hours.

Given the occurrence of high tides at 10:51 pm tonight, this can further delay ongoing
runoff, hence continued Riverine Flooding is expected. Additionally, with the already
waterlogged grounds the threat of landslides/landslips in elevated areas is still possible
with further rainfall.

Citizens in general and those residing in the Caroni River Basin in particular, are asked to
be vigilant in their activities. All necessary measures MUST be taken to preserve life and
property.

WE STRONGLY UNDERSCORE THAT TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO IS NOT UNDER
ANY TROPICAL STORM, WATCH OR WARNING AT THIS TIME.

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service is closely monitoring weather conditions
and will issue another bulletin or cessation of this bulletin at 6:00 am tomorrow.
