Standing or new wave

all them roofing company sales reps work on commission and bs

I bought lifetime standing seam back in 1999
they might have been the only company doing standing seam back then
something like $14/foot for 18" wide
came with 10 year no mildew/fungus/fade warrantee,
claimed the kynar coating prevents that,
all false of course

my mistake was not getting his 'no fade' claim in writing....without that, no recourse...

You need bluescope steel prepainted sheets. The coils are manufactured in Australia and stamped on the reverse side. This will not fade.

hey guy, thanks for all those that responded to my question. the internet line got knocked down first day of the job but the roof is up final and internet is back. I went with new wave 26 gauge chocolate.

Bluescope is good. All roofs fade, just like autobody paint, it will start to fade and lose its resilience in years. Personally I like the standing seam panel due to its clip system which limits the amount of screws on your roof.

Hey guys...what about the plain unpainted galvanise 26g? Any reviews on this? Thinking about using this..any ideas of the price compared to the new wave 26g?

Good question at I was wondering the same thing myself. My builder advised me that it's cheaper to use the corrugated and offers the same performance and it's more rigid so purlins can be placed further apart and less used overall. Any advice will also be appreciated

The nuwave has a overall greater width coverage so you'll have less wastage. It all depends on your roof design. Circular corrugated is stronger due to the many crowns. Standing seam is great in that there are no exposed fasteners. It's also more water tight so less prone to leaks.

Don't listen to your builder concerning the spacing of the purlins. Go with the recommendations given in the Trinidad and Tobago Standard TTS 599: 2006 [Guide to the Design and Construction of Small Buildings].
