galaxy means nothing to me now... samsung fills their devices with too much bloatware, plus they have too big a lineup to realistically provide software updates for all of their devices

If you buy an android for the stock experience is better u get an iPhone, custom roms where its at, and Samsung isn't short on devs on xda.

Then that would imply iOS 7/8 has more features out of the box?..which isn't necessarily true...lol out of the box experience will be based on personal preference though...my preference is stock android however but not exactly stock. More custom ROMs based on pure android. Currently using Mahdi and its amazing..much faster and smoother than beanstalk.

Biggest problem with this is our location. We tend to get the exynos based samsung devices. not the snapdragon versions.
the best custom Roms are released for snapdragon phones :(
I had an S4 i9500.. Hardware wise It was ideal. Great screen, decent battery, expandable storage, tons of accessories. But the only useable roms out there were all touchwiz based
If you can get your hands on the snapdragon versions of the s4, s5, note, minis... awesome opportunities arise.

What device is that..N5? Ive wanted to try it on the G2..I see it got some good reviews, but also see that people still putting PA above it..whats your take?

It's not that I want a rom like what moto does, that's stock google android without much addition. I don't mind a customized rom, once it isn't overdone like what samsung does.

Sorry for the extremely long quote lol..but I'm using the kernel included with mahdi since it offers wayyy better battery life than elementalX, although elementalX allowed for double tap to wake etc.

Yeah it's a Nexus 5. Was using beanstalk since day 1 until I came across mahdi. OTA updates, TONS of features and perfectly stable..on the Nexus 5 that is. Don't know how stable it would be for the G2. Weirdly though, as a power user I find myself leaning away from PA for some reason. Not exactly sure why.

Which moto G they selling for 1800? Nexus 4 for 1500 isn't bad compared to that if it's the non-LTE one.

Have different moto g? I know I saw it in a store after the Samsung store in gulf city for $1800.00. Seems to be the only place selling it in the mall.

Nexus 4 is a great buy for that price but its a used phone. Nobody knows what it been through.

The moto g is nowhere in nexus 4 league but its a pretty decent phone.

Does she have any other options?

My Galaxy S4 (GT-i9500), started making intermittent very loud static bursts while on calls, and it has been getting more frequent. The person on the other end also hears the loud noise and can't hear me.

Anyone experiencing this or has an idea of the fix??

I personally know someone abroad whose s4 caught fire while charging next to their bed while they were asleep. after outing it looked like it started at the charging port. its common.
and they handle warranty claims like absolute idiots.
i have decided to stay away from samsung.
