FC Barcelona and Arsenal FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of player Alexis Sánchez to the Premiership club.
FC Barcelona thanks Alexis Sánchez for his professionalism and dedication for the three seasons that he has been in the first team squad, and wishes him all the best for the future.
Barcelona have reached a deal with the Gunners over the Chilean’s transfer, with the Catalan outfit receiving 27.5 million pounds (34.6 million euros) for the 25-year-old.
Barça could also pocket a further three million euros from a series of add-ons included in the agreement. Sánchez will sign a four-year deal with Arsenal.
The clubs could make the transfer official in the coming hours.

Barcelona have been trying to find a replacement for Carles Puyol for years, and thought they found it in Frenchman Jeremy Mathieu, but Valencia are unwilling to lower their €20 million asking price, forcing the Blaugrana to look to Totttenham’s Jan Vertonghen and yearly transfer target, Mats Hummels.
According to Catalan-based sports daily, Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona still maintain interest in Mathieu and PSG’s Marquinhos, but are looking at having a ‘Plan B’ which includes Vertonghen and Hummels, two names who have been constantly been linked with Barcelona for the past two summers.
New Barcelona manager, Luis Enrique is adament that he needs two centre-backs to alternate starting alongside Gerard Pique and wants the deals wrapped up in the coming weeks, so that the new players may adapt to the squad and hit the ground running when the season begins.
Barcelona are willing to pay €20 million for the Belgian international Vertonghen and have been tracking the player since his emergence at Ajax, while Hummels, if he does leave Dortmund this summer, it looks to be to Old Trafford to join Louis Van Gaal’s Manchester United.
Along with Vertonghen and Hummels, Barcelona are also said to be interested in Sevilla’s Federico Fazio and Basel’s Fabian Schar.

Welcome Luis Suárez!
The Uruguayan will be travelling to Barcelona next week for a medical, to sign his five-year contract and to be officially presented to the media and fans as an FC Barcelona player.
Barcelona will not be able to present Luis Suarez to the press and public when his transfer from Liverpool is complete.
Suarez's impending £75million move can go ahead in the coming days despite his four-month worldwide ban from all football-related activity.
But FIFA has confirmed the suspension does prevent the kind of welcoming ceremony Barcelona customarily throw for their marquee signings.
Spokeswoman Delia Fischer said: "The ban relates to all football-related activity. He cannot be in a football-related public event irrespective of the venue. He cannot even be involved in a football-related charity event."
Suarez has already failed to have his ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini shortened or overturned by FIFA, but the Uruguay striker's lawyer is planning to take the fight to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
The court (CAS) can suspend the ban pending an appeal, but Suarez would then run the risk of the entire ban falling within next season.
As it stands he will be available for his new club by the end of October, although Uruguay must do without their star man for nine internationals.
