I don't understand how the banks can give 0% interest up there. Or do the car companies have that much capital that they can take that risk on their own?

Not quite true, if you are living in a city then yes. Try living in the country side in uk . I often work up in Scotland in the city public transport is ok but expensive, in the country side where most of the Industrial areas are you will find you quickly need a car .

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh...........

The government works in conjunction with the dealers for affordable cars in order to get the older cars off the road .
At one time the government gave you £2000 to trade in your car and then your old car was then recycled .
Plus the dealers want to sell cars. It's the not the banks that give 0% interest, it's the dealers that arrange it with various plans. It called free trade, in trini we are ripped off low Quality and high interest together with over high taxes, but thats the price you pay if you want cheap gas

In trini we have an equilibrium on gas subsidies, remove it and trini is fvuked. Leave it and we pay higher cost for cars.

Yeah but in the UK you have the world of cars at a fairly reasonably cost without the extortion of taxes that trinis face.

That's an unfair comparison anyway. Its dollar for dollar. I won't go abroad and multiply everything by 6/10 and bawl it cheaper in Trinidad. There are other factors to consider.

lol man zoom taxes are far worse.. because i have a 2L car i have to pay 250 pounds road tax a year. then on top of that my insurance is 1800 pounds a year because i'm under 25 even though i've never had a claim on any car ever. Yea sure i paid less than 2000 pounds for a high spec volvo but in 2 years running costs will definitely make up for that.. i wish i could take petrol back with me over here everytime i come

you're sort of right, new cars cost about the same as in Trinidad. good used cars cost next to nothing though

Only if a vehicle is under 1.6l like the focus. Above 2k and its 1.5x.
Buy a range rover in trini and you can buy 2 in the UK for the same price.

They know the gas subsidized so if you want to bring a car getting 5mpg to waste the gas then you just have to pay back for all the gas you wasting up front.
