Heard totally different opinions from various reviewers. It's very mixed... some saying it's excellent and better than ios... some the opposite.

Anyway, any of you guys think it worth it to buy an s5 if you got an s4 already? It's possible I could get a relative to bring it down. Much cheaper but still, thinking the note 3 or active is a better bet.

Yup. I still like the note 3 over the s5 and the s4, a close second. Friend of mine want the active but I trying to convince him otherwise.

Ummm maybe they live an ACTIVE lifestyle.

Was on a snorkeling trip recently and the official photographer was the only person with the active because everyone was beyond paranoid to get their phone soaked/sprayed with water.

Thought that was kinda obvious tho.

Cyanogenmod is very close to pure google. (only the nexus is closer )
Samsung, LG, Sony, et al (save for moto) are all heavily modified versions of android

more options to customize is not always better. I had CM11 on my phone for 2 days....performance was horrible compared to stock on the Nexus 5.

CM11 - 16 hours battery normal use (with franco kernel)
Stock - 1 day+ battery normal use (with franco kernel)

I hated trebuchet from that moment ...it was smooth...but not as snappy as stock.

was very disappointed cuz i have always been a fan of cyanogenmod

anyone else compared CM11 to stock?

stock > cm for stability and battery life. always.

^ Yeah, I had similar experiences. CM11 was not as fast as stock on the Nexus.
I'm running PA Beta 5 on the G2 and Its based off CM11. Different experience though. Its very fast, and runs well. So no complaints there, but I'd still take stock over CM

When I say stock, I mean pure Android...Nexus & Google Play > Cyanogenmod.
not touchwiz (or LG, sony) based roms. Cyanogenmod kills those roms (for me)

Yunno. 4.4.3 taking so damn long to launch. I wanna do stock + xposed + Franco so bad but I loving bean Stalk too much. I only noticed the lockscreen notifications recently. Battery life is comparable to PA for me though.

Xposed can do lots, but Its not perfect.
Like Immersive mode. Xposed can force it on the nexus, but when it does, the bottom row of icons on the home screen dont move, meaning that your not actually getting the benefit of the extra screen real estate, but on a custom rom, you do. May seem small, but I find that to be the story with quite a few xposed modules. They help, but they arent as effective as I'd like.

Also Kitkat flies on ART ..noticeably faster. Xposed doesnt support ART. so it inhibits performance

What you guys think about the Galaxy s5 Prime, rumours have it that samsung is releasing a parent version to the s5. Thinking about waiting for this for my next upgrade....the current s5 doesn't impress me. Release date is rumoured to be in May.
