Are you seeing the state some teams are in because of that train of thought? ahem* mumbai
Right now its the players discarded by the big teams and people who were picked last making the most impact. If you can't see badree's profound impact early in the attack in the multiple games he's given his team an early advantage, you're blinded by numbers. Look at all the big name bowlers getting their asses handed to them by run of the mill players, nothing is sure in t20- you can't judge performance on mere stints. Badree is ahead of narine atm in world t20 ranking, are they wrong or they made up his figures now? Its really sad when people trample sportsmen who are doing their country proud.

Imagine Badree is still underrated in some parts of the world, idk what else he has 2 do to prove his worth...Badree made his T20I debut for WI in 2012 even tho some were callin for his inclusion long before due to his consistent performances for T&T...eventually his performances could not be ignored by WI selectors.
Badree played 1 match last IPL and his figures weren't good but that means nothing...jus look at Maxwell, he was a laughing stock at the last IPL when Mumbai Indians bought him for 1 million, yet he warmed the bench for most of the campaign and played only 3 matches for them and made no impact...LOOK AT HIM NOW!

CSK already have Raina, Jadeja and Ashwin bowling spin. So they prefer to use their four internationals for batting and fast bowling. They may only give him a chance if the pitch is really spin friendly, he should surely get a game when they go to india.

Exactly, dhoni has his regular go to spin stars on his team. badree doesn't even need to have spin, his merits are getting on the fresh track and making the new ball dip, skid and keep low.

Jadeja and Ashwin both in CSK team and both are better batsmen than Badree. He would be hardpressed to get a sweat unless they playing on a raging turner.

Yes they would play Badree... When they have already qualified for the top 4, or if one of their spinners get injured.

Csk will tink twice before they pick badree remember he is only a bowler csk would not drop an all rounder to pick a bowler especially any of the 3 spinner...

But seriously
What make badree number 1???

ummm....not too sure....maybe...

bowling with fielding restrictions
bowling at more recognized opening/top 4 batsmen (most of the time)
taking wickets and having a decent econ rate

well based on a standard judging criteria set by an international governing body (which badree, who i am sure has no influence over)

so yeah, if they give pts based on consistent performance over time...and you amass enough points to get you on top and ahead of everyone else
i guess that makes you number 1

but its easy to get to number 1, its harder staying there....

Mumbai Indians sign Lendl Simmons

ESPNcricinfo staff
April 29, 2014
Lendl Simmons will be with Mumbai Indians for the remainder of the tournament. Lendl Simmons, the West Indies batsman, has signed up for the Mumbai Indians after the IPL technical committee approved him as a replacement for Jalaj Saxena. Saxena had been ruled out the season after sustaining a finger injury in his right hand during a training session.

Simmons, who has played close to 100 international matches for West Indies, had a stellar season with Guyana Amazon Warriors in last year's Caribbean Premier League, where he emerged as the team's highest run-getter with 263 runs from nine matches at 33.25 to power them into the final, which they eventually lost against Jamaica Tallawahs.

Since then, however, Simmons' form has tailed off a little in the shortest format. He managed just 77 runs from five matches in the Champions League Twenty20 for Trinidad & Tobago, and was just as indifferent in West Indies' World T20 campaign, where he scored just 88 runs in five innings.

Simmons is likely to be available for Mumbai Indians' next match, against Sunrisers Hyderabad tomorrow. His new team have had a dismal start to the season, losing their opening four games and are rooted at the bottom of the IPL table.
