UNC Pros
- Sensible projects (Highways, hospitals, schools, better local government, sporting facilities)
- Crime reduction (slight but still an achievement)
- Better economic management
- Entertaining set of politicians (never a dull moment)
- Successfully attempted to portray a more developed image internationally (doesn't really affect the general populace, but it looks good in rankings)
- Better at promoting the advance of SMEs
- Did a lot to free up red tape bureaucracy in our Ministries
- Developed South, Central & East Trinidad significantly in terms of roads, hospitals etc.
UNC Cons
- Nepotism to the highest, appointing unqualified friends and family to critical positions within the state (worse than PNM despite the Hazel drama)
- Corruption (honestly, not as bad as PNM I can certainly attest to this, since coming into power public tenders, transparency and openness)
- Protection of the south drug lords aka party financiers
- Unstable set of Indo Trinis leading you to think the government could collapse tomorrow
- Half the party including the PM are alcoholics
PNM Pros
- Appear to appoint more qualified persons in top positions (to little effect in most cases)
- Better at promoting industrialization and have a very good energy development plan that will make Trinidad prospoer in the immediate 10-15 years, but will lead to an over reliance on energy that makes us very vulnerable
- More stable party (despite the Manning collapse in 2010)
- Promote projects that look nice
PNM Cons
- Crime sky rockets when they're in power
- Horrible management of state funds (inflation sky rockets)
- Very Very corrupt, just much better at hiding it (money appears to leave Trinidad as opposed to UNC's leaked funds)
- Promotes a trinidad too dependent on oil and gas
- Slow infrastructure development that neglects south and central
- Rowley is also funded and controlled by Indo (cough*grande ppl*cough) and Syrian Drug Lords
Take your pick. UNC is definitely the lesser and more entertaining of the two evils.
