if you must put it in an enclosed cabinet look into installing these

Coolerguys Cabcool1202 Dual 120mm Fan Cooling Kit w/thermal control for Cabinet or Home Theaters

http://www.amazon.com/Coolerguys-Cabcoo ... 001BEX52Y/

Includes (2) Ultra quiet 120mm Fans
Also includes a thermal controller that only turns fans on when needed
All necessary screws, cables, and fasteners to complete the unit are included

mount it on the back of your cabinet like this

works great for a PlayStation or Xbox that might suffer from heat too

Be real careful about fan noise. It will make no sense to have hi fidelity sound on your home theater and then have it drowned out by fan noise.

Truly silent fans that move a lot of air are a myth or hard to come by.

I've been using Noctua 120mm fans and find they are quiet. There may be quieter though.

The noctuas are prob one of the best choices for a cabinet fan, very quiet and push alot of air.

Some other decent choices:
Gelid wing 12
Scythe gentle typhoons (if u can find them)
Akasa

^^Yup, I think I'll go with a pair of the rear exhaust coolermasters for on top of the receiver for now and a pair of the Noctua 120mm's for the new cabinet. (When I find one I like)
How are you guys powering the Noctua's? Generic 12v power adapter? 2A?

one of the main killers of electronics is heat.....so i would like it to run as cool as i can....

USB

I spliced two USB cables, plug one into the PS3 and the other into the TV - the fan comes on when they do. I only run the PS3 when I'm watching bluray but the receiver is on once the TV is on since I don't use the TV speakers at all.

Tell me more.

Just looking for something with FM radio and line in. USB and / or wifi and / or bluetooth will be a plus.

Is mostly for listening music in my room.

Have a Dayton 240watt plate amp and a pair of t-lines with 6" subs (formerly soundstream_626's) for bass and undecided for the rest.
I'm seeing the Dayton bookshelf speakers priced nicely on parts express but saw an iffy review. The JBL's out of my budget while the specs look good and sound will be what I expect it to be from JBL. Pioneers look nice.

What you guys using in here?

^with those features---usb, BT, wifi etc.....those receivers will be kinda costly
you might actually get a cheaper 5.1 with those features
rather than a stereo receiver with those features

as for speakers, depending on the budget....the dayton's might be ur only option even though ppl say the newer speakers does not sound as good as the older sets

if not, get a pair of comps and build something.....

If it's just basic stereo sound you need on a budget, why not combine this

http://www.amazon.com/Lepai-LP-A68-Digi ... ords=lepai

with a pair of the b652s and your powered sub and call that a day.

Yea I have this hooked up to a yamaha v375 receiver. It's surprisingly powerful and has very clean sound. I definitely recommend it. I guessing u saw it at Pricesmart. Got mine from there.

Now seeing this.

The pioneer that raptor has looks decent but the warranty is less than the onkyo. Not keen on the onkyo speakers for music as the ones I heard at RadioShack did not really impress me.

The jbl bookshelf's take like 150watts a piece and the receiver only spits out like 50 last I checked so that will be a waste.

Any idea how a pair of HAT imagine 5.25 will sound for normal radio listening? Any other options I should look into?

Nerve, a good pair of automotive coaxials in a smallish box sound surprisingly good in a radio, light listening scenario.

Something to think about for the budget minded.
