License for two-way and marine radios?

Postby Hyperion » February 26th, 2014, 7:22 pm

Every so often I see Radioshack ads featuring 2 way radios with different ranges. just wanted to confirm that no license is required for these radios?

I see Caribel also offers handheld marine radios, do these require licenses?

RadioShack radios are basically walkie talkies with different ranges, so no license is required. ILLUMINAT T&T Limited and Caribel offer radios for sale or rental. You can either rent monthly airtime for the radios from either provider above or apply to the Telecommunication Authority of T&T for your own frequency which is kind of expensive.

Hope this info helps. Also if you need radios pm me
