Don't be so sure inno.

There was a time when dealing with them might be seen as pure victimization. But slowly and surely the people of Beetham digging themselves into a hole with the constant disruptions.

The second they become purely a political liability, they will be dealt with. It just depends on what party is in office at the time.

The Beetham defenders have become noticeable less vocal as of late which is promising. Time can only tell.

In the next decade how many people will die due to this act of terrorism? Will the TT government compensate those people like the US government did to pollution victims of 9/11?

So what will the next terrorist attack be on the nation? Poisoning of the capital's water supply?
Why did the government pass the anti-terrorism act of 2005 again?

“terrorist act” means—
(a) an act whether committed in or
outside of Trinidad and Tobago
which causes or is likely to cause—
(i) loss of human life or
serious bodily harm;
(ii) damage to property; or
(iii) prejudice to national security or disruption of public safety including disruption in the provision of emergency services or to any computer or electronic system or to the provision of services directly related to banking, communications, infrastructure, financial services, public utilities, transportation or other essential infrastructure, and is intended to—
(iv) compel a government
or an international
organization to do or
refrain from doing any
act; or
(v) intimidate the public or
a section of the public,
for the purpose of advancing a
political, ideological or a religious
cause; or
(b) an offence under any of the
Conventions;

That has been going on for years with Beetham residents.
They are above the law it seems.

The EMA released a statement before 4PM yesterday stating that the air in POS was safe again, but when I left around 5PM smoke was still lingering all over POS and it was disturbing my eyes and nose. There was also a thick cloud of smoke over a large portion of the Beetham Highway. Was the EMA directed to lie to the population by someone in authority?

What's your definition of "firm"?

Since he was a part of the PNM ever since..
The PNM was there, witnessing all the various issues from these people ever since...
Nothin was done... ever since!

I thought by now they would've used the helicopters with the fire buckets to try and put out the fires.

Addressing questions from the public on why the ‘bambi’ bucket, used last year to fight a series of fires in the landfill, was not brought in again this time around, Bachan said:
“The approach with the bambi buckets was not successful last year. The smoke emanating from the fires impaired visibility for the helicopters and the heat was also too much for the craft.”
Bachan said the most effective way to deal with the current problem of a deeply smouldering fire was to stifle with fill material.
“Water will only deal with the surface, while the material will continue to smoulder underneath, so covering it is best,” Bachan said.
