Body without arms, head found in Caroni
By Susan Mohammed
Story Created: Dec 17, 2013 at 9:22 PM ECT
Story Updated: Dec 17, 2013 at 10:53 PM ECT

A BODY without arms and a head was discovered in a rice field in Caroni yesterday.
The body was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition, and police are yet to make an identification.
According to police, around 12.30 p.m. employees of the Water and Sewerage Authority were conducting measurements of approximately 800 metres in a rice field in Kelly Village when they stumbled upon the corpse.
Authorities were contacted and a party of police officers of the Cunupia CID, Homicide Division (South) and Central Division Task Force went to the scene.
Police said a skull was discovered underneath one of the legs, while the arms were not found.
The body was clad in a pair of jeans and construction boots.
Investigators said the body appeared to be that of a man.
Police said crime scene investigators were unable to lift fingerprints because of the advanced state of decay.
Investigators said the missing persons database will be checked to narrow the search for an identification of the remains.
Cpl Curtis Pierre is continuing investigations.

I are confused.

My guess would be they were unable to lift fingerprints from the body due to the advanced state of decay (as in the killer's fingerprints, not the victim's).

I figured they couldn't lift fingerprints because there were no arms.

Sounds like the measurement of the 800 meters wasn't finished.

Express lame....wrote an online comment once about their standard of reporting and writing and it was taken down within 1/2 hour. Criticism is how you improve.
