I caught a strange looking fish and after doing some research I it found out it was a Schomburgk's leaf fish. It is about an inch and a half long, I did not know these were native to Trinidad. It's camouflage is real good, it changes color to match the leaves around it, with different pattern's too. Evens lay on it side among the leaves and drift aimlessly at times. When you touch it it don't swim away it reacts just like a leaf. This is a cool fish I have to get another one.

Nice find, what location though. I guess we do have areas in Trinidad that would hold fish with those adaptations where a high amount of leaf litter is found and relatively low flow areas.

I caught it by accident, I went collect some duckweed about 3 months ago to give to some black conchs I have in a half of drum when I change the water Saturday I saw it. It had to be very small at that time because I just scoop with a big net, didn't even put them in water till i reach home which was about an hour after and it survived. You know the ''river'' running along the side of the Hi way south bound lane after Nanan's bird sanctuary tours? right dey!
