Wasn't it rumoured that Tots were going to use the Bale money to secure De Maria, Ozil and Benzema?

Spurs has made six signings. Chiriches and Lamela, Eriksen joins Paulinho, Roberto Soldado, Etienne Capoue and Nacer Chadli all arrived at White Hart Lane this summer.

And I it's reported Bale has agreed terms with RM so it's a matter of time now. (Lamela is Bale's direct replacement).

Gareth Bale joins Real Madrid from Spurs in £85m world record deal

Real Madrid have broken the world transfer record to sign Tottenham forward Gareth Bale.

The Wales international has signed a six-year contract after sealing an £85.3m (100m euros) move which eclipses the £80m which Real paid Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.

Bale, 24, joined Spurs as a left-back for £10m from Southampton in 2007 and scored 26 goals last season.

He was named both the PFA and Football Writers' player of the year.

More on Arsenal's pursuit of Mesut Ozil and it seems the decision to sell the German international hasn't gone down too well in Madrid. Supporters gathered at the Bernabeu for the unveiling of Gareth Bale have been singing 'Don't sell Ozil' as the German star undergoes a medical in Munich ahead of a move to the Emirates.

Manchester City and Manchester United are set to attempt to tempt Andres Iniesta away from Barcelona. The Spanish star is yet to renew his contract at Camp Nou leading to interest from the Premier League duo.

Tottenham will sell Emmanuel Adebayor in January in order to fund a move for Manchester United striker Chicharito.

Real Madrid have stepped up their interest in Porto striker Jackson Martinez. The Colombian has a goal ratio of one per game so far this season. (Benzema replacement)

Eager to sign a winger due to the sub-par performances of Valencia, Nani and Young, Manchester United have put Barcelona wide-man Alexis Sanchez at the top of their wishlist.

Iker Casillas has admitted that he will consider quitting Real Madrid in the January transfer window if he fails to usurp Diego Lopez as the club's number one goalkeeper.

The Spain international, who has not started a league fixture for the Blancos since January, has struggled to wrestle his starting berth back from the 31-year-old this season, with speculation mounting that his woes could extend to international level and jeopardise his hopes of playing in the World Cup next summer.

Real Madrid captain Iker Casillas has revealed that he intends to stay at the club until at least the end of his contract following his starring role in securing a 2-2 draw at Juventus in the Champions League.

The goalkeeper made a number of fine saves throughout the game and helped Madrid secure the point which moves them a draw away from the knock-out stages of the tournament for yet another campaign.

And, despite being used as a reserve goalkeeper behind Diego Lopez in La Liga, the club skipper - whose contract runs out in 2017 - insisted he has no intention of leaving the Santiago Bernabeu any time soon.

Lionel Messi is set to make a sensational exit from FC Barcelona in the summer—at least if notorious "insider" Francois Gallardo is to be believed. Gallardo told the viewing public:

In late September, just two months ago, one Barca player and his advisers met with the club. The footballer wanted a review of his contract and the Catalans promised to allow that player to do so. They agreed an increase in wages. Yet after a month, the club made contact with them and explained that they could not fulfil it.

So a month ago the relationship between advisers and the club broke down. The player feels betrayed and has decided to leave at the end of the season.

The player has a verbal agreement other team, and in for February/March he will begin preparing his transfer. The decision is taken. Leo Messi will leave the club at the end of season!

Real Madrid think Xabi Alonso won't renew his contract.

Xabi Alonso is ready to leave the Spanish club because he believes he has received offers more interesting than Real Madrid's proposed new contract.

I hope this isn't true :(

Luis Suarez has a buy-out clause in his new Liverpool contract which allows him to be sold to an overseas club from next summer.

The precise release figure, which can only be triggered by a non-English club, is unknown but sources anticipate it is in the region of €71-84 million.

Suarez signed a four-and-a-half year contract on Friday that is worth £200,000-a-week plus bonuses as Liverpool moved quickly to tie down the outstanding player in this season's Premier League ahead of the January window.
