An official software update came our for my HTC one , but I'm on a custom recovery (still default ROM, hence i got the OTA update). As a result, whenever I try to update to the new software, it the custom recovery prevents the update. Sooo the noob thing to do would be to remove the custom recovery, revert to stock and update OTA, but I thinking there must be a better way. Maybe download the official HTC ONE ROM, the new version and just flash it??
maj. tom wrote:find what folder the OTA update is downloaded to. Usually it's a folder under the Home folder.
Copy the folder to your external SD card.
reboot into your custom recovery.
wipe Dalvik and wipe cache.
flash the update from folder on SD card.
reboot.
