They are no longer starting outside the Hyatt, last year the start boat and Solo hit the same wreck that the Harbour Master ran up on last week.

Only a few months ago a member of the winning team of a few years aback told me about crew members in these races experiencing brief black outs and disorientation when these boats slam into the water after being airborne.
Actually,back problems is not uncommon and many have pulled out overtime due to violent impacts on the body.The impact absorbing seats can only do so much.
One hella of a difficult sport to sustain participation.
