NEWLY-crowned Miss Scotland 2013 Jamey Bowers told last night how Scottish Sun psychic Frank Pilkington steered her to victory — by telling her to wear GOLD in the final.
Jamey, 24, of Edinburgh, kept the astrologer’s fashion tip in mind as she shopped for a killer gown to wow judges.
And when she spotted the sparkling number in Debenhams she knew it was the dress for her.
The stunning brunette revealed: “Frank told me that if I wanted to win I should wear gold.
“So the minute I saw my stunning Jenny Packham gold sequined gown, I HAD to have it. And he was absolutely right.”
Gemini Jamey’s feet have barely touched the ground since she won an army of fans at Glasgow’s Old Fruitmarket — and walked off with the Miss Scotland crown and £10,000 prize.

Red all about it ... Jamey wowed in bikini round
After the bash — hosted by former Miss Scotland Jennifer Reoch and River City star Gary Lamont — the famished beauty celebrated with a giant plate of LASAGNE on room service at 2am.
Gorgeous Jamey tucked into the mammoth portion in her luxury suite at Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel. She said: “It was the best meal I’ve tasted in ages — washed down with a jug of orange juice.”
Jamey, who turned 24 on Tuesday, split from Hearts ace Andrew Driver, 26, in March after a five-year relationship.
The Hibs fan, from Leith, said: “Andrew was my first boyfriend and when he left to join Houston Dynamo in Texas I was supposed to join him.
“But we had grown apart and I couldn’t uproot myself.
“I’ll always love him to bits. His was one of the first texts I got after winning, congratulating me and sending good luck.”

She added: “I’m single now and not looking for a relationship. I’m busy finding out about ‘me’ now. There’s so much I want to do.”
Jamey revealed that she snubbed Naomi Campbell for Miss Scotland — after she was chosen for the supermodel’s TV show The Face.
She said: “It’s along the lines of Britain’s Next Top Model and I applied online to join.
After an audition in Manchester, producers said she was on a shortlist of 60 and invited her to London for the next round.

Cookin' on gas ... she celebrates with retired chef dad Gordon
The following day Jamey was told she was in the ten finalists for Miss Scotland.And telly chiefs were back on the phone with news that she’d made their final ten girls to appear on The Face.
She said: “I’d had my heart set on Miss Scotland so I told them I wouldn’t be able to take part because filming was on the same day.
“Thank goodness I did. Now, when the programme is aired I’ll be watching to see who took my place.”
Jamey’s exotic childhood was spent between Edinburgh and Trinidad’s Port of Spain. Dad Gordon, 63, a chef from Edinburgh, was working there when he married local girl Paula and had Jamey.

She said: “We came to live in Edinburgh when I was two, but my parents split and I went back to Trinidad with my mum.”
They lived in the family home with Jamey’s grandmother and auntie.
She said: “My cousins are boys so I was pretty much a tomboy, climbing trees, swimming, cycling and running.”
Mum Paula, a biochemist, and Jamey go to Trinidad every year for the carnival.
She said: “We get dressed up and take part. It’s brilliant and great to see all mum’s family. My grandmother is a school teacher in her eighties now, and still working.
“Because it’s such a small place, everyone knows everyone else, and my phone’s been going non-stop with texts.

“When I was six in Trinidad, Wendy Fitzwilliam — a former Miss Trinidad — had just won Miss Universe and she came to our school.
“I was enchanted by this beautiful woman in her glittering crown, went home and told my mum I wanted to win a crown when I was big.”
Jamey was thrilled when Wendy texted to congratulate her on winning Miss Scotland. Now the world is waiting, and Jamey’s ready to soar.

She said: “I’m looking forward to representing Scotland at the Miss World pageant in Bali. And I wont be fazed by those dark-eyed beauties, because I’m one of them.
“Wherever I go — France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Egypt — everyone thinks I’m a native.
“But I’m SCOTTISH. I live and work in one of the world’s most beautiful cities which is rich in history and culture.
“And I’m so proud to wear this crown.”
Thrilled pals are top trio
WINNER Jamey Bowers faced tough competition to land the crown — with gorgeous Mhairi Fergusson as runner-up and Laura Paterson taking third place.
Fashion student Mhairi, 19, of Blairlogie, Stirling, said: “I’m delighted for Jamey and I’m thrilled to be runner-up. All the girls have been brilliant.”
Beautiful BBC worker Laura, also 19, added: “It’s been an incredible experience. I’ve loved every single minute.”
