" The entire Central Range-Warm Springs Fault Zone runs roughly from Manzanilla to Claxton Bay...it also extends offshore on both sides of the island. "

“So magnitude 7.0 or greater in Trinidad within 30 kms north of the Cental Range and 30 kms south of the Central Range, you are likely to get extremely high ground motion and because of the magnitude you will experience this for 40 or 50 seconds which is long enough to destroy most structures that we have currently on the island. So the prospects are not very bright, they’re dull.”

i thinkin is probably movements on the land, called soil creep, due to the fluidizing of the soil by the recent rainfalls. soil creep is a slight version of land slip, which in turn is a slight version of land slide.

dhal, goat, rice, pepper. nah it was not no earthquake, but the land did move. the same process which causes land slides, and slips, i suppose.
the t&tec pole leans lower and lower every year, because the land shifts.

when there is dry season, the moisture moves out of the soil. this causes the cracking. the dirt is loose and contracts along into the clumps.
when it gets wet in the rainy season, it soaks up the water, and expands. but when it does this, it expands in the direction down the slope rather than up the slope. plus the soil is wet and more pliable. so it 'creeps' so to speak.
if the slopes are steeper or there is more weight loaded on it, it causes it to shift down wards more, and is more noticeable. it then is called a land slip.
land slides are drastic examples of the earth flowing down a slope.

no tectonic activity, just some surface hydraulic/fluid activity
