(works on quite a few touchwiz Samsungs not sure about custom rom)

DO NOT CLICK IT IF YOU'RE BORED

i know some of you android folk are quite a bunch of adventurous lads. Thought you all would be willing to give it a try.
In fact it's just a USSD command. Nothing major. The implications are though.

Just use Chrome as default Browser till Sammy fixes this

EDIT: Can happen in Chrome also(not test by me)
Also, bug can affect phones besides Samsung

EDIT: Go to this link to check if you're vulnerable to this exploit: http://www.androidcentral.com/ussd-test

The article explains it

Lumia vs iPhone, Galaxy S3 and HTC 1X

http://www.engadget.com/2012/09/25/ipho ... -face-off/

u guys are always quick to hype up how great your android devices are and stuff...

but u all never give credit where credit is due...

the new Lumia is showing itself to be better than the flagship devices on both iOS and Android but everybody is strangely quiet.

yes u gonna say its about the ecosystem (i can understand that argument in the iOS camp.. u androidians always boast about your hardware specs)

u gonna say its about look and feel (there's no android device better looking than a lumia)

i just wonder if any android user would take a serious look at the wp8 and by extension Nokia or HTC or Samsung devices.

ol, until they post some prices... bloggers can yap all they want, at the end of the day the consumer has to spend the money...
Plus, wp has a long way still wrt app development but I'm optimistic with wp8 change in internal operations (kernel and WinNT, etc.) it should accelerate it's development. Is it too late? Only time will tell but for now and for some time iOS and Android will continue to lead the pack.
Side note, Microsoft, did shoot their own early adopters as wp7 can't go to wp8 unless they buy a new phone... I thought they'd at least put something in place to aid in their transition but it seems there isn't any.

Wow, great image stabilization there, best on the market.....

original_lollybob wrote:the new Lumia is showing itself to be better than the flagship devices on both iOS and Android but everybody is strangely quiet.

It's not strange, there is really nothing to talk about when it comes to WP8 right now, look over in the WP8 thread it's dead, not even on the first 2 pages of this Forum, on the interwebz, watch the ratio of Android/iOS articles versus WP8, this is not rocket science

original_lollybob wrote:yes u gonna say its about the ecosystem (i can understand that argument in the iOS camp.. u androidians always boast about your hardware specs)

As of right now, WP ecosystem is lacking, that's a fact, I am not going to go backwards with regards to apps and app choices.

original_lollybob wrote:u gonna say its about look and feel (there's no android device better looking than a lumia)

Well the above is purely subjective, and I don't buy devices on looks alone, and if I did, it still would not be a Lumia, but that's just me, sorry

original_lollybob wrote:i just wonder if any android user would take a serious look at the wp8 and by extension Nokia or HTC or Samsung devices.

What if there are users that have taken serious looks and they still chose Android/iOS, have you given thought to that???

Maybe what you should try doing is going into the RIM/Blackberry thread and try getting those users to look at WP8 devices, RIM CEO said they have a clear shot at being the number 3 platform of choice, hint hint.

These are just my views eh, hope it didn't come across argumentative
