With the latest Redsn0w I believe you can get back the latest supported BB for the 3GS which still allows the full services of the device.

Saw iOS 5.1.1 on a 3GS, it works ok but I've gotten too familiar with the speed on the 4s.

Be warned ... it will cause havoc with your data needed apps (weather, maps, findmyiphone etc)

Telling you from experience. They do know now that the device it's being used on is not a BB

stealth wrote:hey. not sure if this has been covered already, but I am unable to send text messages from my 4S, I called Digicel and they said most likely I would have to put in the message carrier settins (which they provided). But they did not tell me how to do this...they said to go through the phone settings and "dig up".

upon doin some research online , i found there is a code you have to use to do this. However I am unable to do this. Can anyone help?

That code will not work.

You need to reinstall iOS and re-jailbreak if your phone isn't factory unlocked.

I had the same problem. You see a red exclamation mark showing sending failed right? But can receive texts?

Nevermind. Got through eventually. Trial and error. Basically came down to something wrong in the settings but once I got the alert of that specific thing, I corrected it & all is well. Running on it now.

Samsung Preparing to Sue Apple if the iPhone 5 Supports LTE

By Brandon Russell on August 30, 2012 in Apple, Samsung

Apple vs. Samsung - Argument - Lawsuit - Fight - 005Samsung wants revenge against Apple. According to the Korea Times, the company is reportedly preparing to punch Apple in its most sensitive of areas: the iPhone 5. If the device does wind up landing with LTE, Samsung will reportedly strike hard by filing an injunction against the handset by citing its robust LTE patent portfolio.

While the Cupertino company already offers LTE in the new iPad, Samsung is reportedly waiting for the right moment — the iPhone 5 with LTE — to avenge last week’s mostly one-sided loss. Apple and Google CEOs are said to be in talks to work out possible patent deals on mobile devices, so it’ll be interesting to see how that pans out, and also how that affects Samsung’s plan to go on the offensive.

I bought an iPhone 4s from bmobile in April this year, I recently sold it because I wanted more storage so I bought a 64gb.
I have the iPhone data package from bmobile because I bought the phone from them.. so now that I have the 64gb now how do i go about getting data back on my new 64gb now?

What do you mean when you say "data back"? Do you mean putting the stuff that was on your old 4S on to your new 4S or you mean getting data from bMobile wireless Internet?

The iPhone data package should still be on your account, as far as bmobile is concerned you still have an iPhone, just make sure your apn is 'internet' and you should be good to go.

you sure about this I think the APN change since the "free Internet " stop.

:| the APN was always internet. Wayy before that free Internet. That iPhone plan is a post paid one and postpaid users require that APN. Strangely though that Internet supposed to be working since carrier settings activate automatically. Or should. With bmobile.

it should be automatic

I've had an iPhone 2, 3, 3G and 4 and never had to manually enter APN and settings for bmobile

the iPhone automatically picks up the carrier settings from bmobile

I'm sure, these settings are automatically provisioned from the carrier. They're changed when the carrier releases a carrier update bundle.

Anyone know why bmobile disabled mobile hotspot feature on iPhones?
I was hoping they did it by mistake as they were nowhere near to providing 3G speeds when they disabled it.

One day they got bored and decided hey when we push the carrier update, disable hotspot k.
Who knows. If you are jailbroken just delete the bundle.

^^^but iz true...lol

i dont get how ppl can actually compare the 4s to the s3....only thing the 4s has over it is build quality....but when it comes to features the 4s doesnt even come close...

i must admit that its nice having an iphone and an ipad (as i previously did) just to say you have them both but when it comes down to practicality it just doesnt make sense cuz ur iphone cant do much more than you ipad can do for you other than making a phone call...file sharing is nice though but whats even nicer is having an android phone with an iOS tablet....or for the ppl who still holding onto their BB devices with their dear lives, a BB handset and an apple tab...

much more windows and possibilities open to you than having an iOS phone and iOS tab...android phones are just better IMO...except for the premium build quality...

If you now setting it up then it should be done automatically.

But you can check or do it manually if you like.
