It all depends on what type of corals, LPS, SPS, Leathers.
His prices range from $300 -$1800. Its also dependant on the size. The Australian coral he recently bought in is $950 up
Live rock is either $20 or $30 a lb. Then he also has good home made rock that he has seeded. So its actually live now.

dont think you should put all those things in a new tank. Allot of them wont last due to lack of food and other nutrients they require. Some will last, some wont. And you have to know if you have the right bulbs to grow these corals. What type of bulbs are they (HOT5's, MH, LED's) and whats the wattage. Mushrooms really dont need much light. Not only that, their are special needs that you need to check. eg: Cal & Alk. Placement of your corals are a key factor.
I see you say your tank is cycling, Did you get the live rock from the beach or another tank.

Yup, thats true. When they have the orange color you know its a juvenile. There are a few on the market right now that they have genetically altered to maintain that orange head but its a couple hundred dollars.......$US. Just about a year ago, any misbar clownfish (where the white stripe doesnt go all the way around) was a reject, now having a misbar clown is more money and in high demand by collectors. This is mine..................

i still stuck in the freshwater bizniz. ALthough you muct admit, a nice Amazonian setup with some what I like to call 'freshwater exotics' like Arowanas/stingray/ropefish does look nice. idk when i could step up and go saltwater/HUGE freshwater like you guys

just a useful review...

I bought this: http://www.amazon.com/Hagen-A207-Fluval ... =fluval206

it's the size of a paint bucket just a bit taller, it works really well the only downside is the primer pump lever is plastic and mine broke already, so i have to use a pliers when i need to prime the pump

Thanks Bhonda20B. I like the complete black clownfish.

Anyone has problems with Freshwater Stingrays? I hear they dont live very long and have a specific lifespan......my last stingray died all of a sudden after a few months.

Anyone with a Freshwater Stingray for some time?

yes it has bristle worms. No his live rock doesnt have polyps. You have to buy that seperate. Starfish are $100 and wont last in a new system. It should go in a mature system (over 6mths) and if you have temperature swings, the wont survive. They will just melt away.

You also get some sponges and small crabs on the live rock as well.

You also have to watch out for our local starfish cause they are hit and miss in a reef tank. I had a few in a small tub that ate zoas. He bought some blue starfish earlier in the year thats reef safe but cost $400

not so with me. a starfish was one of the first few things i added to my tank....within a month of setting up. Still alive and going strong. 8-)

ppl do u just top off your tank with rodi water, because of evaporation, or do u add salt-mixed water when adding?

Top off with RO/DI water only.
It's the water that evaporates not the salt.

yea i do that as well...but i was thinking....doesnt the minerals get depleted from the original tank mix? or the water polluted....or is the skimmer for that?

Is there a need for water changes or adding new salt-mixed water at all?

I add new plain rodi water every 2 days.

^^ You must do water changes to keep your marine tank healthy.
Trace elements, calcium, magnesium and alkalinity get used up and needs to be replaced also nitrates build up and need to be removed.
For a fish only tank you can do a 20-25% water change every month or more often if you have a reef.
I do a 10% change every week.
