The most talented young Indian Batsman hasn't yet gotten a test debut so far.....Rohit Sharma. About time they bring him in.

If Australia win the final test....they would go up to number 2 in the rankings. They are still number 1 in the ODI rankings. Their batsmen must come good if they are to beat England. btw the Swami army going down :D

according to cricinfo.they said Warner played a 20/20 innings..wa is allyuh take on that...I see nothing wrong with it...test match cricket need ah lil more excitement and well to get start like that in any form of the game is excellent.

I'm all for batsmen playing innings like these, then what would become of 5 day test matches?? Would it be decreased to 3 days even 4 days.... it's hard to see batsmen maintain that level of aggression without getting out... btw.... David Warner and Virender Sehwag opening the batting for Delhi Daredevils....

"I would still drop VVS [Laxman] and get Rohit [Sharma] in for next Test. Makes long-term sense. Give Virat [Kohli] one more Test ... just to be sure he does not belong here. VVS averages 20 in last 12 overseas innings. Even if he gets a good score in next Test, it will not serve India long. Also if Virat, before the tour, was India's next big thing, should he not get more than two Tests on his first stint in Australia?"
Commentator and former India batsman, Sanjay Manjrekar.

Whilst we watch the carnage inflicted upon the Indians i now remember Australia coming here next. Level licks for Sammy and the WICB 11.

Sri Lanka lose with 2 games to spare. So much for competitive cricket in that series.

To be be honest, England is really a good home team yes, I don't think any other team in the world have mastered playing in English conditions.

England 192 & 126/7 (50.0 ov)

Pakistan 338

England trail by 20 runs with 3 wickets remaining

Bangladesh Premier League
Afridi and Gayle fetch highest BPL prices

ESPNcricinfo staff

January 19, 2012

Pakistan's Shahid Afridi outdid West Indies batsman Chris Gayle, who is widely considered the most valuable Twenty20 player in the world, by fetching the biggest price at inaugural Bangladesh Premier League auction in Dhaka. Afridi was snapped by Dhaka Gladiators for US $700,000 a little after Gayle, whose international career has been stalled by a long-running dispute with the WICB, went for $551,000 to the Barisal Burners.

West Indies cricketers fared well at the auction, with Marlon Samuels getting a $360,000 bid from Duronto Rajshahi, and Kieron Pollard picking up a $300,000 deal with Gladiators. Allrounders Dwayne Bravo and Shoaib Malik were bought for $150,000 each.

Seventeen foreign players were put on auction with a base price of $100,000 including former Sri Lankan bowlers Muttiah Muralitharan and Chaminda Vaas, the New Zealand allrounder Scott Styris and Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor. Stuart MacGill, who has come back from retirement to play the Big Bash League, was one of 36 players auctioned at a base price of $50,000.

The BPL will be contested by six franchises that were bought for prices ranging between $1.01 million and $1.2 million, with SQ Sports picking up Chittagong for the highest value during the franchise auction on January 10.

How on earth Shahid Afridi could be worth more than Gayle??

With regard to the C T20, T&T's group is interestingly poised. The Windwards have 12 pts from 3 matches, while T&T and Guyana have 8 each.

Provided that T&T can beat Canada ( ) in the evening's first match, they're assured a place in the semis by virtue of their superior run rate.

Looking forward to the second match though. The unbeaten Windwards will be looking to finish top of the group while the Guyanese are fighting for a place in the semis. That should make for a competitive fixture.
