Just came back to post that, been reading the reviews, seems worth it.

Will download tomorrow. :D

Another thing, I downloaded google docs and when I try to create a document on the tablet it asked that I name the document, when I press "OK" i get an error message saying "error creating document".

Any idea there?

Hay anyone here has a Galaxy Note? I ordered one this morning so I'm pretty excited over it. Ordered through amazon prime so hopefully I'll get it before Christmas. Anyway, I am wondering what's your experience with it been like so far? And how is the size affecting normal use?

This seems like the best place to ask. Anyone know where I can get a case and screen protector for the Samsung Galaxy Ace locally?

The more deployment I see of ICS, the more I like...

But Sony Ericsson is sticking BAD BAD.
I can't see myself with those ugly-ass phones with no souls.... just a brick with a big screen.

Did this and it works somewhat. Haven't tested on the road yet but I just did it and it searches for a GPS signal...Hopefully it works.

HI guys im officially in the andriod camp, got my SGS2 last week and I luvvvv it.

Had a HTC running winmo 6.5 before.

Having experienced ios, winmo and android I must say that android is the best.

I rooted and installed CWM then flashed to ISCrewed rom and installed quite a bit of apps and games.

I like tapatalk 8-)

Android is now seeing more than 700,000 new activations every day

Image

Google’s Andy Rubin has revealed that the company is seeing more than 700,000 new Android activations each day.

Rubin, who is senior VP of mobile at Google, announced the figure on Google+ (natch) and further clarified that activations means newly sold devices, which makes the number all the more impressive:

and for those wondering, we count each device only once (ie, we don’t count re-sold devices), and “activations” means you go into a store, buy a device, put it on the network by subscribing to a wireless service.

While each new activation doesn’t necessarily mean Android is getting a new customer — as many folks may upgrade, or perhaps get a second device — a look at previous activations rates announced by Google shows impressive growth.

August 2010: 200,000 activations per day
June 2011: 500,000 activations per day
July 2011: 550,00 activations per day (130 million devices, 6 billion downloads to date)
October 2011: 576,900 activations per day, from May-October (190 million devices to date)

It isn’t just handsets that are flying off the shelves too as Android’s app store — Android Market – passed 10 billion downloads earlier this month, with users averaging 53 apps per device, which is still short of 83 on the iPhone.

This ever-increasing growth in users and usage is what Google chairman Eric Schmidt believes will see the Android operating system topple Apple’s iOS as the first choice for developers. Schmidt recently revealed that he sees the change taking place within 6 months, by which time Android could be activating more than 1 million devices per day, if it continues to grow at its current rate.

Six hours screen on time is a lot, realistically, how much more than that do you really expect? Remember, if you use the phone, the battery percentage has to drop, it can't be avoided.

My SGS2 always gets me through the day easily, 2 to 3 hours screen on time, 12 to 16 hours off the charger, at least 40% left, I have never had the time to try to get 6 hours screen on time though...
