Is it safe to put a samsung galaxy ace in a magnetic pouch?

Bought a ace yesterday in lest talk and they give me a free magnetic pouch however the girl who sold it said do not put the phone in the pouch cause it will damage it.

hmmm

Didn't know magnets does damage phones?

yep the magnet damages the touch screen or sumting along that line..
