Thanks guys. I really appreciate this. My father died on Tuesday morning of a series of strokes suffered.
For anyone who lived in the Mayaro/ Rio-Claro area, they would know of the man that was not a father to 5 children, but too a county. My father (injun) was one of the founding members of the black power movement in the 70's. He was the President of ECFU (eastern counties football union) and vice president of TTFF (then TTFA). Many youths of mayaro were kept out of the drug life (easy to get into in Mayaro) through his endeavours in football and cricket. He was the Manager of the Mayaro Spurs football club, which saw many of its players making it to the National and International level. Anyone who ventured into Mayaro during the dry season would have noticed the huge crowd at the annual night windball cricket, another of his doings. All this he did selflessly and without any form of personal gain.
A great man he was and a community now mourns his death.
RIP Razo...
