Steve Jobs resigns as C.E.O of Apple.

In a shocking development out of Cupertino, Apple CEO Steve Jobs has stepped down, the board naming Tim Cook as his replacement. The company said "Steve's extraordinary vision and leadership saved Apple and guided it to its position as the world's most innovative and valuable technology company," and Steve himself had this to say:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.
I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.
As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.
I believe Apple's brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

anyone who has seen jobs in public,for the last 2 years,would know that his health has declined,dramatically(he,s almost skin & bones).his life,s end may be close & has done what in the best interest of apple. steve jobs has been one of the greatest technology innovators of the 21 century .those of you who are praising the android technology,just remember that bill gates failed to kill apple,sony walkman & discman are all history. apple will always continue to be ahead of it,s rivals,for the sheer fact they have always been technology innovators(i-mac.i-pod,i-phone,i-pad).if technology is cool today it,s all because of steve jobs & apple .

Yea boy this really deserves a ched of its own. I hope Jobs recovers quickly... I don't necessarily want him to come back and lead Apple and send his health down the drain, but his creativity and unique perspective is what has made Apple the great company it is today. I do not own a single Apple device but am still a big fan... because Apple has always bought us the Future...

because he has vision. I will tell you that flash is a resource hog, on everything from computers to phones. I agree with him on holding out on it. as for blu-ray? If you research well, you will understand why also....

clearly you dont have netflix and vudu. the only media that's relevant is digital. no one want to walk around with CDs, DVDs, bluray etc..

i for one fed up of:
-having to re-build collections with each new tech
-storing all those physical media

This is a great step for apple. I don't think anyone would change, can only go up from here, out with the old and in with the new. Apple have always maintained a standard with their products, I wish the Trinidad government could take a lesson here.
