The Best Football Club in the world?

Postby axe » February 22nd, 2011, 8:43 pm

The most over-rated teams in football have to be Chelsea, Arsenal, Barcelona and Manchester United. Just look at the following and make up your mind on who are the greatest teams (well most know that I think Bayern Munich is the greatest, even though some sides have better records):

CHAMPION LEAGUE RECORDS:

Club / Won /Runner-up
Real Madrid 9 3
AC Milan 7 4
Liverpool 5 2
Bayern Munich 4 4
Ajax 4 2
Barcelona 3 3
Internazionale 3 2
Manchester United 3 1
Benfica 2 5
Juventus 2 5
Nottingham Forest 2 0
Porto 2 0
Celtic 1 1
Hamburg 1 1
Steaua Bucureşti 1 1
Marseille 1 1
Feyenoord 1 0
Aston Villa 1 0
PSV Eindhoven 1 0
Red Star 1 0
Borussia Dortmund 1 0
Stade Reims 0 2
Valencia 0 2
Fiorentina 0 1
Eintracht Frankfurt 0 1
Partizan 0 1
Panathinaikos 0 1
Atlético Madrid 0 1
Leeds United 0 1
Saint-Étienne 0 1
B Mönchengladbach 0 1
Club Brugge 0 1
Malmö FF 0 1
Roma 0 1
Sampdoria 0 1
Bayer Leverkusen 0 1
Monaco 0 1
Arsenal 0 1
Chelsea 0 1

RECORDS IN DOMESTIC AND CHAMPION LEAGUE (except for Boca juniors)
• Real Madrid CF (Spanish La Liga)
Won 31 league titles and 9 UEFA Champions League trophies

• AC Milan (Italian Serie A)
17 Serie A and 7 UEFA Champions League titles

• Liverpool FC (English Premier Football League)
Won the English League 18 times and the UEFA Champions League another 5

• AFC Ajax (Dutch Eredivisie)
Won the Dutch Eredivise 29 times and have lifted the UEFA Champions League trophy another 4

• FC Bayern Munich (German Bundesliga)
The Bavarian club has won 22 German and 4 UEFA Champions Leagues

• FC Barcelona (Spanish La Liga)
Won the Spanish League 20 times and collected 3 UEFA Champions League titles.

• Manchester United FC (English Premier Football League)
won 18 league titles and 3 UEFA Champions League trophies

• FC Inter Milan (Italian Serie A)
The Italian club has collected 18 local league trophies and has won the UEFA Champions League 3 times

• Boca Juniors (Primera Division Argentina)
Won the Primera Division 23 times, the Copa Liberatadores 6 times, and FIFA Club World Cup 2 times

Using stats like most members, or most $ just doesn't cut it. Champion League and domestic wins says it all!!!!!!!!!!!!

This has to be the most retarded thread ever.

Real Madrid were operating under a regime of fascism and extreme prejudice under the time when they won alot of their trophies in Spain and regionally. Their pockets were unbelievably deep and were building galacticos teams since then. Added to which this roster is highly skewed towards western European clubs. What about Boca Juniors, River Plate, Santos, Corinthians, Club America, etc etc What about Galatasary (spl) who have the craziest supporters in all of Europe? What about rangers and celtic who's fans have literally died for their clubs. Trophies only tell half the story. This is a foolish thread. Over and out.

Brazil is only remembered because of World Cup trophies.......trophies are what matters

if your fans are crazy doesn't make you the best side padna

Bolt is considered the best sprinter not because Jamaican fans crazy but because of his records

Records and Trophies dictate the best

your argument is flawed

Trophies DO matter it proves who prevailed at the end and in this case it's REAL MADRID making them the better club.

No one said it does not matter if I recall properly. The OP has a valid point when it comes to the Club that has the most trophies. I am simply stating the eras in which Clubs wins trophies determine there chances of winning trophies. Let me explain my position briefly:
- Certain Clubs with more financial backing can purchase "better" players than others. Most of the time, when a player gets a better offer he would leave his current club. That's life...
- You would agree long ago smaller sides would get real licks and would never even be able to stand a chance against bigger Clubs...this is not the scene now and we can all attest that most clubs now (small or big) have a better all round side which can beat big name sides on a good day.
- There are a lot of politics in football, back then and even now...let's not go into this too much.

In conclusion, trophies are a substantial achievement for any Club as it is a competition at the end of the day. But to state one side is better than the other by showing how much trophies there win is not telling the entire story. Also, what about other clubs which were left out of this List?

Edit: and Yes your are correct to state that Real Madrid is the better Club in this case due to the number of trophies they have.

Politics, Fascism, Who had the most money, who could afford the best players, who supporters died for, whuddever

i can't understand your arguments

Everything points to Real Madrid being the best team ever (even though I love Bayern Munich)

In tennis Federer is considered the best based on tournaments won
In every sport tournaments (trophies) won are the measure of who was/is the best side

Because some people seeing that their sides haven't been as successful as they think they will be pissed, but the facts are there to be seen
