Is it a PNM backlash ? - UWI Lecturers on protest

Postby V2NR 3.0 » November 10th, 2010, 12:50 pm

He said negotiations had been ongoing for 30 months, during which time the Cave Hill campus had settled for a 14.5 per cent increase and Mona for 25.7 per cent, while they were offered one per cent in each year since 2007. Negotiations for the next three-year period is due in 2011.

I was reading this article and began to wonder if the current protests being undertaken by UWI lecturers are a direct backlash from broken negotiations under the last regime.

While it is agreed that the current government has a responsibility to deal with these industrial relations / human resources issues, was it failed actions on behalf of the former government to effectively address these requests ?

Again...the silence and indifference of Winston Disasteran is the problem. If the FOOL would come out and state clearly what the government position is things would flow...that is what Mona agreed too....a deffered increase from their last negotiations...people not stupid, but Dookeran is both stupid and now arrogant in his behaviour.

A senior economist explained this last night on TV6 news.

Is he time now, so let him fix his problem now!

Take what you getting or walk.
I doh see the big issue...it have 10 guyanese and indian lecturers more qualified than some of these jokers waiting in line for jobs.

See how fast they shut they trap when UWI say no more renewal of lecturers contracts.

^ That's why us lowly workers put our trust and hope on the PP...and now what? 1% for us putting them in power.

Reminds me of the saying when you vote for someone, they get the maximum and you in return get the minimum...Bunch of liars...giving hope based on lies, lies and more lies.
