Way boy, I eh even a Hindu and I find that offensive.

I spent Divali with Hindu friends who discussed all the aspects of the celebration with us, and what you say there belittles the beliefs they shared. And I talking as an agnostic and someone who doh care either way about Kamla.

Doh ever attach humans, particularly not politicians, to divine identities. It's a proven recipe for feeling like a dotish mudder-ass in the future.

As i said those who got offended by her statement, then go forth and tell your families and friends to give all their hard earned money and life savings to the relief effort. If you don't have the balls to do so of if you don't have any money at all, then keep your negative comments to yourselves.

I find that a cop-out for people who don't want to/can't engage others intelligently and maturely.

Instead of trying to pointlessly "get a rise", why yuh doh try to raise the discourse?

What yuh saying, yuh rather be a troll than be a man?

you do understand the difference between a statement by a Head of State and that of the average citizen right? You also understand the right of the average citizen to criticize the elected Head of State in a democratic society right?

Why must they give all? Why not just whatever they can afford?

I doh think most people would have a problem with that...people do it all the time.

Humans are mystically Linked with the Divine isn't it?
Didn't Man conceptualize God?
And please Guys research before you take offense.
And i don't mean Wikipedia.
I mean go Get get the Lakshmi Puran, Devi Upasna. Research the Different forms of Lakshmi, and their meaning.
Read the Role of Women in Hinduism, and the Role of Woman in Society.
It clearly states, that the leader of society becomes like the God of society.

So i'm not talking out of my ass.

The role Kamla takes as a Woman, and as Leader of Society, she is the Head of this House called Trinidad, and the caretaker of her people, and the bringer of Prosperity.

In this role, she is the Mother Lakshmi of this Island.

I say it Boldly !

Mother Lakshmi says so boldly in the Devi Mahatmyam.

Similary i would have said the same thing about Manning if he really did something for the people. But he turned out to be a real Rakshas.

Except Mother Lakshmi is divine. She doesn't fail. Her purpose is pure.

Kamla is human. She has failed before and will fail again, regardless of her successes. And her purpose is political, like Manning and all others before her.

Linking Kamla to Mother Lakshmi like that belittles the deity, outright disrespects the deity in my opinion.

I doh know if this is a case of you being a mindless PP supporter, or not being a very good Hindu, or both, but yuh need to slow down and check yuhself. Yuh sounding just as foolish as those small church pastors who linked Manning's political dominance to Christ in his kingly character.

Real, real foolish.

I tried having an intelligent debate with these people, but their responses always fall to personal attacks or non constructive arguments.

In short:
My political intellect > UNC Supporters on this forum.

Lol. "To err is Human to forgive is Divine."

You are entitled to your opinion, and to the narrow minded Hindu's who are offended, my apologies.

But i stand by my point. Yes Kamla is human, and will make mistakes. But in her role as "Woman in Charge" i have no qualms in what i said.

Yes her role is also political, maybe not as Pure as Mother Lakshmi, but its an Ideal to live up to.
She is using her power to do alot of good, and she is seeking her country's best interest.
She can bring alot of prosperity to this island, with the right decisions and actions.
Prosperity in terms of economy, budget and the social status of the people.

And compared to the previous Prime minister, and the last 7 years of suffering, so far she is doing a great job.

Once she keeps up her good record i will stand by my statements.

But if she start to do sheit (highly unlikely though) then i have no problems in retracting what i said.

refer to the treatment she got here.
