Hey guys please look twice !

Postby 2 d Max Auto » April 1st, 2010, 3:19 pm

I know I'll probably get a backlash from this but if it makes difference to at least one person it will be worth it.

Please have a look at the vid :?

<object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/SXI8-_9FrB4&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/SXI8-_9FrB4&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>

The risk involved in the sport/mode of transport myself and other bikers have choosen is not lost on me and I'm sure it's the same for every sane biker out there.

We're all concicious of driving safety and ready to rant and rave when someone gives us a bad drive...........the problem for us as bikers is that we may not be around or in one piece to do any ranting and raving.

Hope you all can accept this post with the good intentions with which it was intended.

Thank you for this. Why don't we have commercials like this playing on local stations?

Good video, but it must also be stressed that the biker needs to excercise just as much caution as the driver and follow the assigned speed limit for the particular roadway.

When approaching any intersection, especially on the EMR, I slow in the event that some clown coming out of a side street doesn't stop on the line or in case some clown heading in teh opposite direction decides it's a good idea to swing in front of me to turn without using his indicators.

buzz, agreed.....but statistics show most bike accidents are caused by negligent car drivers :?

Hook,
it must also be stressed that the biker needs to excercise just as much caution as the driver and follow the assigned speed limit for the particular roadway

i agree hat we should take bikers safety into consideration because aster all its their lives at sake when accidents happen. But i think bikers in TnT should take automobile drivers into consideration cause when they drive like cnuts and we f them up and kill dem by accident it rests on our minds for the rest of our lives.
I have seen bikers die in TnT on d road and it's not pretty to look at.

as long as i see them i give them right of way...but there were times i had to actually stop cuz they were overtaking the traffic coming towards me on my side of the road...but i guess all of them are not like that.

stupid bikers

A time my pops was driving a rental we had just picked up, driving in front of old tech headed into sando,we didnt even see d biker until he reach on the side of us, and apparently he was vex we werent letting him pass (as i said, we didnt even see him until that point) so he swing out his hand and hit the side mirror, i assume with the intention of breaking it.

Then he sped off, no rear numberplate.

I usually always pull a little to the left if I see a biker coming up the road, and allow them to go their way, because it wont end well for the biker if they try any kinda sheit when I driving, and I not up for a vehicular manslaughter charge again....

note bike men: i usually do not see bike men until they past me, and do not hear them until they're at my side. i look in my mirrors frequently, but the bikes go to fast for me to notice. my fear is that when one decide to speed past me, i decide to change lanes. i try but u guys move to quick for me to notice in my little mirrors.

............so you've been practicing :?: :?

sMASH: I know exactly what you mean, I'm a biker and when I'm driving both my wife and I are always on the look out for other bikers.......thing is like you said we don't always see them, they mover too fast and with today's bikes they are so quiet you don't even hear them coming sometimes :?

truth is every biker needs to be conscious of these facts and take nothing for granted....as a biker I recognize that my safety is not your responsibility......so should every other biker.

Granted we do have some idiots and show offs in community

the hatred for bikes is what gets me.........some drivers think its funny to pull on a rider, or cut them off purposely...........i never understand that attitude..........
if bikers choose to white line and move through traffic (which is safer than sitting in traffic where they can be rear ended), thats their business.......i don't see why some ppl must try to injure them for it........

and i agree with 2 d Max Auto, there are too many show-off and generally unsafe riders...........they are the ones who give the general motorcycling community a bad name.........but then again the same can be said about many "fast car" owners.......... :|
