^ thats the orginal series and mini series, going on since yday.

the reboot looks ok so far but it sucks knowing how its all gonna pan out...that is if it sticks to the original story, which is seems to be doing so far.

but same issue with knight rider remakes etc...what shocked/entertained/attracted/repelled us back then just doesn't have the same effect now.

i believe you talking about the effects as attraction back then ... with age a story line should be the attraction now

yeah I meant sticking to the story in a loose, general sense...aliens come, pretend to be good, we find out they bad, resistance form up, fight... I wonder if they still gonna have them eating rats...I remember that clearly from the original series, I think that was the first time they showed that the visitors were not who they said they were.

I refer to both effects and story...I'm sure there are no effects this show can throw up that will make me freak the way I did when I saw the first reptile face and when the woman ate the rat, we've gotten too blase/sophisticated for that kind of thing. The story...c'mon...the movie / tv show landscape not populated enough with all kind of alien movies? Even in this pilot they had some fella saying " this is the real Independance Day"

I just find they try to stuff too much into that first one-hour (!) episode.

Also picking up some subtle Obama themes...lemme see who else ketch them.
