SEVERAL people were questioned over the disappearance of Point Fortin businessman Dinesh Soodeen during the past three days at the Point Fortin Police Station, police said yesterday. However, they have since been released.
The Anti-Kidnapping Squad (AKS) has since teamed up with the Point Fortin police in their bid to find Soodeen.
An officer at the Point Fortin police station said they have interviewed several people whom Soodeen came into contact with, or spoke to, on the day of his disappearance, but they were later released.
"We have not stopped searching for him, however, due to the nature of the matter, we are taking precautionary methods with this case," the officer said.
Soodeen's mother, Seeta, said up to late last night, they had not received any ransom calls.
Soodeen, who owns Kaotik Audio, a car accessories store in Point Fortin, drove out of his Belle Vue, Chatham, home on Wednesday evening and did not return. His grey Toyota Prado van was found abandoned at Gulf City Shopping Complex, La Romaine. The vehicle was unlocked but nothing was missing from it.
Cpl Keith Sylvester of the Point Fortin police station and the AKS are continuing investigations.
