This Christmas, if you have a taste for Scotch whisky and an extra US$1,000 to spend, a bottle of Voyager—the newest offering from Johnnie Walker-—could be the answer.
The Voyager Odyssey was officially unveiled in Trinidad and Tobago yesterday at Aioli Restaurant, Ellerslie Plaza, Maraval at a luncheon hosted by the brand’s local distributor, AS Bryden’s.
The exclusive limited-edition blend has only been launched in select world markets. Only fifty cases—each containing two bottles—are available to the local market, and as Lyndi-Anne Koylass, Johnnie Walker’s parent company Diageo’s country manager said, that can be reduced—so if you’re interested you’ll have to act fast.
Catherine Innes, Bryden’s Diageo relationship manager said already four cases have been ordered, so there is demand here in Trinidad for this ultra-luxury product.
The Voyager Odyssey range will be available by special request from Bryden’s, and also on display and sale at Hi-Lo supermarkets Westmoorings and Gulf View, and wine and spirits retailer The Naughty Grape on Tragarete Road, Port of Spain.
As Trinidad and Tobago is one of the top six Western/Latin America and Caribbean markets for the Johnnie Walker brand, this country will be the first stop for the Johnnie Walker Voyager—a massive 200 ft yacht on a world tour following the original trade routes of Johnnie Walker’s first merchant ships.
Voyager—which was also featured in the latest James bond film, Skyfall— docks in Trinidad on February 4, 2014 and leaves one week later.
