wa could remove glue residue from a stainless steel surface?

yeah ppl as d topic says...i have an item and it has a stainless steel surface and it was taped up with the clear scotch tape during shipping and when i removed the tape it left a kinda gluey residue what can i use to remove it?

DO NOT rub it down with any kinda hard sponge or scrape it, use any of the things mentioned above, dont expect it all to come off at once, put the pitch oil or WD40 on, leave it a few minutes to dissolve it a bit, wipe off as much as you can with a rag or paper towel, and repeat,
the ethanol, laquer thinners and naptha evaporate too fast for this, you would have to keep applying and rubbing nonstop

guy there is a 3m adhesive remover which has all the properties mentioned by these guys and designed remove adhesive on almost any surface it works on car paint , it is sold in a red and white pan
