$20.8 million in cocaine and marijuana seized in POS and Western Division operation— Glencoe businessman arrested
An intelligence-led police operation in the Port of Spain and Western Division on Thursday night resulted in the seizure of over $20.8 million worth of cocaine and Colombian “creepy” cannabis.
Around 6:20 p.m., officers received information about a vehicle suspected of transporting narcotics in Port of Spain. They proceeded to Chancery Lane, where they intercepted a red Honda Vezel, registration PEK 8654, driven by Collin Joseph, 39, of Roxborough Extension, Diego Martin. A search of the vehicle revealed nothing illegal.
Officers then went to Joseph’s business place — D Executive Car Care Center along La Horquette Valley Road, Glencoe — where a search uncovered a quantity of cannabis and cocaine hidden in a locked room.
A follow-up search at Joseph’s Diego Martin home yielded two brown packets containing compressed cannabis. Both locations were photographed by Western Division CSI officers.
The seized narcotics were weighed and valued as follows:
5 packets of pure cocaine — weight: 5.62 kg; street value: TT$7,833,830.40
157 packets of Colombian “creepy” cannabis — weight: 118.58 kg; street value: TT$13,013,799.26
Joseph was taken to the San Rafael Police Station along with the seized drugs. PC Persad is continuing enquiries.
The exercise, conducted between 6:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on August 14th, 2025, was coordinated by Snr. Supt. Maynard-Wilson, Supt. Ettienne, ASP Pitt, and ASP Jones. It was spearheaded by Insp. Gadar and Sgt. Persad, and directly supervised by Cpl. Foster.
