At first I went eww but as part of the Gran Turismo generation I don't mind the fake shifting and fake engine noise.
If technology eventually accommodates the Forza crowd with a rewind button that would be nice.

Article says “ Electric car burns at MovieTowne basement carpark” but I don’t think they can put out an EV battery fire with a water hose.

Could be as simple as not clesning the battery fan filter and that cause the over heat.

If I had an ev, I would drive with ac on all the time to prevent the dust build up and ensure it gets cold air.

Iirc the Danish tested using chilled brine to put out ev battery fire... But generally ev fires have to run its course (burn out completely)

Brine... As conductive as one can get...might as well discharge it with jumper cables ...

Hadda remove the object thst causing the short. But the battery pack is a potential explosion risk. I Will not send nobody into that situation .

Lob it with foam and let it die out.

Could potentially use some sort of hook in a wrecker or fire truck and pull it far from anything valuable and put up simple barriers to minimize shrapnel

A message issued by Massy Motors:

Fw: MG ZS incident report

Good Evening All,

We are aware of an incident involving an MG vehicle at MovieTowne on Saturday, which has since drawn media attention and public discussion.

The safety and well-being of our customers and drivers is of utmost importance to us, and we are grateful that there were no injuries.

We would like to clarify that, contrary to some circulating reports, the vehicle involved was not an electric or hybrid model, but a conventional gasoline-powered unit.

We are working closely with the relevant authorities to understand what occurred, and we are treating the matter with the seriousness it warrants.

While such incidents are rare, they are not unprecedented across various makes and models. We have established protocols to ensure that events of this nature are thoroughly investigated. Our focus remains on identifying the root cause and, where necessary, implementing appropriate measures to prevent a recurrence and uphold the highest possible safety standards for all who use our vehicles.

Vice President Operations

Lol. Not even an EV, the resistance to change among most people is astounding

Everyone was so quick to believe it was an EV.
