Wide track with space for passing is always a good thing - those narrow circuits end up being just processions

Yet another weekend checo scraping for p9 or p10. What a waste.

Really exciting race with action in every lap. I felt like this year I saw more effects of the altitude than previous years.

Interesting race today. Norris starts P1 and Max P17 on a potential wet track. New start time is 11.30 am today.

One of the best F1 races for a while.
Hate him or love him but today Max showed why he deserves to win another championship.

^ Max just needed to beat Lando on this one to retain the world championship - well done.
Expected more from McLaren - the Mercs looked in fine form in Vegas tho

The Mercs definitely performed better on the lower downforce circuits.

Max did a good job this season considering he had a challenge from the other top teams. Well deserved.

I find red bull is overlooking the small Japanese driver... And he seems to be doing a lot better than the other red bull drivers besides max

Congratulations to Max, the season is a lot closer as we approach the end compared to the red bull dominance at the beginning

Apparently his sponsorship money more than compensates for the difference between 1st and 3rd place in the constructors championship.

Rbr would have no shortage of sponsors if they drop checo. In the age of the cost cap, money is the least of their worries.
Yuki isn't good enough, Lawson needs experience. Rumor is Franco may get a shot at either the 2nd seat or vcarb.

The cost cap relates to spending not earning. So if the cost cap is 135M they can earn much more than that. Driver's salaries are not included in that. They still need to find 55M to pay max , plus pay shareholders, investments, research and development, etc.

Lol do you really not think RBR, owned by a 20bn dollar company with 10bn in annual revenue, and with 2 constructors/4 driver WCs, cannot cover those costs several times over alredy? Not forgetting the lineup of sponsors who would be waiting to get their logo on that car, esp with a new driver.
Just look at their 2019 budget and come again. This isn't Williams pal

Also, R&D is literally what the cost cap pertains primarily to.

Iirc Yuki has been better than all comers so far... Nick, Daniel, Lawson. Hot headed, definitely, but he has been putting in work

Lawson has matched Yuki despite inexperience, and DR beat him in 5 of their last 7 races together.

yuki is overrated for what he is, and imo would be a nightmare to manage if he had a competitive car
I wish Albon had gotten an opportunity alongside max

That stat is off by one and I think Yuki scored more points despite 2 DNFs.

telemetry is a hell of a thing
Stewards were able to tell that Lando didn't slow under the double yellow and gave him a penalty which cost him 35 seconds in the race - that dropped him from 2nd place all the way to last.

Why wasn't a safety car issued after they realised debris was on the track? I thought that was strange. I was watching on and off

Lando's penalty was also a bit harsh in my opinion.

I find it hard to believe that lando was the only driver not to acknowledge that yellow marker board.

Even the track graphic that tells you which section of the track has a yellow flag ignored that yellow flag.
