If you watched the X-Men cartoon in the 90s you'll probably like X-Men '97.
Season 1 was better than expected.

season 1 was a bunch of hurried comic books arcs shoved into one episode filled with lazy writing. the guy who was in charge kept asking people to do their homework before each episode to rewatch certain past episodes...

there's no character development as characters are taken from point A to point C without ever having to stop off at point B.

9.5/10. The Hollywood versions suck in comparison.

Joko Anwar's Nightmares and Daydreams going good so far. Seven different horror stories. First and second one so far are the strongest.

Special effects in Godzilla Minus One is beyond greatness. It deserved that Oscar.

Furiosa was a bit underwhelming, based on the expectations I had.

Never can happen with Netflix. Fox Studio owns that and everybody wants a slice of their streaming service pie now. Disney owns a lot of Fox material, and then there's 3rd party licensing like Hulu or SlingTV.

Shareholders>> convenience of access to consumers, which for a while really did stop a lot of piracy problems for publishers. Now it's come full circle again.

The high seas beckon.

Yet to watch the minus One. Feel I go take it in today.

Heard Furiosa bombed in the box office. Feel I go stream when a good version come out.

A series I've recently finished watching is Shōgun, and I'll be honest, it's one of the best remakes I've ever seen! Considering the plethora of movies and series that come out and tend to recreate what has been made in the previous century, the probability that each of these remakes will be decent is lowering to a greater degree. If the 1980 mini-series received great reviews, you should know that the 2024 adaptation has gained even more popularity, and it's well-deserved. I'm not going to spoil too much, but I'm just letting you know the plot is set amid the threat of civil war in Japan in 1600, so if you don't like historical series, I guess this isn't for you :)) If anyone's interested, you can find the series on fmovies, I've watched it there.
P.S. I've just started reading Clavell’s novel and I can confirm that the series truly respects its original source material :))

IMHO The movies did not itself, the who-what-when-where and why.

the old BBC series did a much better job.

but them in marvel movies thanos wanted to "control the population" as opposed to being a murderous A-hole.

Those who recommended Shogun, good choice, real enjoyable. Still have a few more episodes as I could only manage 1, 2 episodes every couple days.

if anyone used to take in Everybody Hates Chris, there's an animated continuation with most of the cast reprising their roles (the 3 chirren voiced by other ppl). it picks right off the final scene.

if you enjoyed the first series, you will enjoy the animated series - Everybody Still Hates Chris

100% agreed on this. This is probably the most "WTF is going on!" show I've seen since Dark.

Now got up to date on ep 6. Not a single bad episode so far. The directing on point.

Colin Farell killing this role as Oz.
