Yes, ashes in PNM die hard areas, but they doing the necessary in the right areas to ensure victory again. How twiggy going to help eradicate the PNM from laventille? The fanatics falling over themselves while the time grows short to do the right thing.

So if kamla take your advice and get into power, you would be happy?
I was the happiest person in 2010. After all that has happened since, I prefer to see someone else as UNC prime minister, along with the exit and/or jail for moonilal, anil, Barry, &&, tancoo, shanty, nakhid, Ralph maraj and khadijah. I suspect many in the population will agree.

You know how much people out there swear that Kamla was going to lock up pnm politicians for corruption in 2010?

You know how much people out there swear that Rowley was going to lock up unc politicians for corruption in 2015?

It's been 9 years since pnm became the government, nobody making a jail.

That's just the age old hopium politicians sell to the masses about the opposing side.

It is because ppl are misinformed about civics.

The PNM nor the UNC govts can’t lock up anybody. Arrests are done by the TTPS and charges are laid on advice of the DPP. Locking up is sentence of the Judiciary. All of them are independent of what any govt can do.

The only person to go through the entire process was Vincent Nelson who was convicted and sentenced for a corruption scheme with a certain govt minister giving kickbacks after filing frivolous lawsuits. He didn’t get lock up because he made a plea deal.

Anand Ramlogan was arrested for witness tampering in a lawsuit against Dr Rowley. Plus he and Gerald Ramdeen were arrested for being implicated in a corruption conspiracy. We are still waiting on completion of the witness tampering case but charges have been dropped in the corruption conspiracy because a key witness is unwilling to testify.

It is the TTPS and Judiciary who are dropping the ball and dragging their foot. But recently the govt won back in Florida civil courts almost $1B in corrupted money from the Piarco Airport Project. All while the case is dragging in local courts.

But to saying nothing has happened is inaccurate.

You conveniently left out Marlene, wonder why? But that's not the point.

Nelson is not a politician.

Arrest and charges sounds good which increases the hopium until said charges are dropped. The point still stands, politicians not making a jail.

But you conveniently left out everyone, I wonder why too.

Since Nelson is guilty of defrauding the state, there must have been a state actor who facilitated him. Since Nelson paid kickbacks, somebody received it. Two hands had to clap, and that other hand was a politician who is choosing to be a thorn in the side of the govt until another way to convict him is found.

There was Marlene who died before her case was completed.
Panday is only one who was actually sentenced to 2yrs in prison but got his conviction tossed out.
Eric Williams and Franklin Khan were arrested based on bogus claims by Dhansam Dhansook
Dhanraj Singh was arrested and jailed for murder for 2yrs until he was acquitted.
Glen Ram and Sangre Grande councillor were charged for separate bribery claims.

I can't think of anymore. But just like men said before the PNM don't infight and I had to recount all the PNM infighting, politicians are arrested and serve jail time. But unlike the common man with some legal aid lawyer, they most times have the resources to afford top lawyers who will defend them well or get them acquitted based on errors in the case.

I could name out everyone if i want... yes
You could argue about Nelson till yuh turn blue... sure
Marlene died... yes
Panday conviction tossed out...yes
Williams and Khan acquitted... yes
Glen Ram is just a charge, he not convicted and in jail.

Politicians always have top lawyers to defend them well or get them acquitted based on errors in the case... yes

All that comes back to my point... politicians not making a jail

Except for Panday who spent almost a year in prison and Dhanraj who spent 2yrs.

For them to leave their palatial homes and spend a night in MSP far less months and years is a fate nobody can tempt.

My error. Panday was sentenced 2yrs in jail of which he served a few days before he was able to secure bail while it was being repealed. A year later his sentence was overturned. But he still was imprisoned.

Lawyers for convicted Opposition Leader Basdeo Panday will go to Port-of-Spain High Court today, where they are expected to appeal the decision handed down yesterday by Chief Magistrate Sherman McNicolls.

McNicolls found the former prime minister guilty on all three counts of failing to declare a London bank account to the Integrity Commission for the years 1997, 98 and 99, contrary to Section 27 (1)(b) of the Integrity in Public Life Act, 1987.

Panday was remanded into the custody of the T&T Prisons Service, after being sentenced to a term of two years' imprisonment with hard labour. He was eventually taken to the Maximum Security Prison in Arouca.

He was also ordered to pay more than $1.8 million to the State.

The defence team made an application yesterday to go before a judge in chambers for bail, after McNicolls denied the 72-year-old politician bail, pending the outcome of the appeal.

Friday is the day normally set aside for such applications, unless the case is deemed an emergency and an earlier date is given.

Until then, the UNC political leader will spend the next few days in jail until his lawyers can secure his bail.

Not ur error, u did this on purpose.

U knew very well it was only a few days he spent but tried to spin in a different narrative.

Besides it has all trumped up charges and fake sentences by a corrupted PNM legal system

He was sentenced to 2yrs in jail and a year later on appeal it was determined that there was a mistrial. I thought he spent the time in jail but he got bail shortly after the sentence. Nevertheless, he still went to jail which refutes the claim that politicians don't go to jail.

You want to challenge Dhanraj Singh's time in jail too?

You jump in like a Wednesday but don’t understand. The claim was made that no politician makes a jail. This was refuted by recalling all the politicians that made a jail including Panday and Dhanraj Singh, one night or 2yrs they made a jail which we are told is not nice.

Panday didnt' even spend time in jail per se. From what I'm told, he was holed up in some kinda infirmary or something so.

I wonder if Kamla could make a jail for all the corruption she facilitated when PM?

Those were the days. And the feeling that we had finally put the PNM in the ground. Having experienced 1986 as well, 2010 really seemed like the country was ready to ascend to the world elite. In the end we didn't get any change, just an exchange and worst of all the resurrection of the PNM. It's a damnation on Kamla that after all we have been through since 2015, the PNM is the better option for THE MARGINAL VOTERS who will decide the election.

Very true. I was in the heartland of the UNC today talking to some real die-hards. Even they are saying that Kamla does not stand a chance in the next elections.

They say if Tantie steps aside and takes the remaining cabal with her and the UNC gets some decent young people who care about the country, they will go clear.

They are also very concerned that this current batch of young 'uns in the UNC care more about "Rainbow corned beef" than anything else. The die-hards have some serious problems there because they think there is a rainbow legislative agenda coming if they win.

Dooks mistake was going against the silver fox and Jack. I was there at the epic election rally in mid center mall, that has to be the biggest crowd I have seen and that put paid to the COPs chances. That was a master stroke of politics and organisation to assemble the massive show of support and put doubt in many UNC voters who were previously willing to give cop a chance.
