From where I live the northern range doesn't look as bad (it's visibility is very much better) than previous Sahara dust arrivals. Doesn't seem as bad as the meteorologists were hinting at based on sight.

yeah it is not as bad as they made it out to be
but as usual it’s usually the unannounced ones which are worsest

i recall last year or year before i could see a beige layer of dust on my vehicle
and in woodbrook visibility was just a few blocks

Hopefully the drains could get a good flush out. The pavement in front my house had a section broken off last year and now we see inside the drain. It's just one set of rubbish just backing up.

2:45 PM - An isolated thunderstorm in the Gulf of Paria has produced heavy/violent rainfall rates along western coastal Trinidad, generally moving northward toward northwestern Trinidad, including Port of Spain.

Locally heavy rainfall may produce short-lived street/flash flooding in Port of Spain and environs within the hour.

Overcast all morning and some showery periods, just had a torrential downpour that lasted about 15 - 20 minutes. Temps about 30 to 31 degrees. Gasparillo area. Hope the dams get some of it.

Chances are high (75%) for above-normal number of extremely wet days (> 25.0 mm) during April to June 2024, i.e. expect between (3-7) extremely wet days in Trinidad and (3-8) in Tobago during the period.

April showers maybe? It's good to have a rest from bushfires and get better quality air for a while.
