Manslaughter is not an offense?
As it is now, the only evidence we have of this incident is that dashcam footage. This is not enough. The driver who recorded this incident is a first hand witness of this and he can come forward to testify. Given the person involved it is highly unlikely that this will happen given the state of this country and what usually happens to witnesses.

officer batson says the guy got into another accident later on, presumably whilst continuing to do a getaway drive
hence be able to be held
otherwise he could do the standard, i lend out the car it wasn’t me driving

hope ttps got a proper timeline statement from the dashcam driver and any other eyewitnesses to pin him as the driver at the time
because when this case come up 10yrs later plenty details end up lost

Different things but there is some question on judgement from the individual...

This

Would love to see what measure they’re putting in place in chaguanas where they are widening the highway to mitigate cross overs. Those opposing lanes look mighty close

Suspect in deadly Couva crash freed without charge

The suspect who surrendered to the police after a deadly crash on the Solomon Hochoy Highway on March 28 has been released from custody without charges, pending further investigations.

On April 2, Central Division police also said the investigations were ongoing and a file was being prepared to be sent to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for advice.

The suspect, 30, is a member of the regiment.

The crash killed Neil Ballai, 55, a delivery driver who worked with the Kiss Baking Company.

He lived at Eccles Trace in Spring Village in Valsayn.

The crash happened at around 6.45 am on March 28 on the southbound lane of the highway, near the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva.

Ballai was driving one of the company’s Isuzu trucks, with a coworker, Terrence Jagessar, 34, from Cumuto Main Road, Cumuto, in the passenger seat.

Dashcam footage shows a black Hyundai Ioniq car hit the truck from behind. On impact, the truck veered off the road and crashed.

The car did not stop.

Ballai died on the spot and Jagessar was injured.

About 12 hours after the crash, the police found the car in Preysal.

The suspect later surrendered at the Freeport police station.

An autopsy on Ballai’s body is set to be done this week.

PC Sudama of the Couva police station is leading investigations.

I was liming with a former police prosecutor when that kiss truck accident come up. He say that video footage don't prove who was driving the car. The person with the dash cam has to be willing to make a statement. Which most likely won't happen as its a soldier he making a statement against. They will need to find out who installed the dash camera and if it was installed properly. If the footage was edited.
All kinda thing before they could charge the soldier.

Well it was a weighted question, but you did provide an answer.
What is a dashcam good for if that's the case? Footage for a Let's Drive channel on YouTube?
