HOW MUCH MORE WILL IT TAKE?
The bullet riddled vehicle belonging to doubles vendor Deosaran Ramjeawan, at the entrance to his home at Ramai Trace, Penal.

Three armed criminals pounced on a doubles man and his family and attempted to kill him for his family’s savings as he was about to drive away from his Debe home to ply his trade on Thursday.

The blood of Deosaran Ramjewan splattered on one of his two young children seated in his vehicle at the time of the attack.
The three criminals beat his wife with a cutlass and pushed their two children into a bedroom where they got $18,000 which the family had saved to fix their home on Ramai Trace in Debe.

Police said they have seized four AR-15 rifles and ammunition at a local courier company.

In a statement, the TTPS said officers conducted an intelligence-led exercise in the North Central Division, between 10 am to 11:30 pm on Friday night.

Around 5:30 pm, officers of the Piarco C.I.D. received pertinent information from a TTPS intelligence unit and proceeded to the premises of a courier company in the Trincity area. There the officers intercepted a package and when it was searched, several firearms and components parts were recovered, including four AR-15 Assault Rifles, 6 AR15 magazines, 60 rounds 7.62 ammunition, 80 rounds 5.56 ammunition, 30 rounds .38 ammunition and 30 rounds .45 ammunition.

The operation was spearheaded by ACP Subero, Snr Supt Smith and Supt Nowbutt, coordinated by ASP Ramharrack, Insp Greene, W/Sgt. Grant, Cpl Lashley and PC Charles.

Piarco C.I.D., Arouca Process Staff, Piarco Chargeroom and members of the NCTF-West and NCTF- East conducted the exercise.

Commissioner of Police, Erla Christopher said the successful operation is another dent in the fight against illegal firearm trafficking..

“This successful operation demonstrates the TTPS' commitment to proactive intelligence-led initiatives, aimed at disrupting illegal activities, removing dangerous weapons from our communities and reducing the incidence of homicides. Each gun seizure bolsters our crime fighting efforts, as these are the illegal weapons used in murders, shootings, wounding and robberies which bring a sense of fear and frustration, disrupting the lives of our law-abiding citizens. We remain vigilant and determined to utilise all our available resources to keep our communities safe.”

Where to put this. Garbage trucks in this country need a police escort now.

RESIDENTS of Carapo, Arima have not had their garbage collected for over two weeks.
https://newsday.co.tt/2024/02/15/carapo-residents-go-weeks-without-garbage-collection/

Newsday was told sanitation workers responsible for garbage collection in the area were robbed and badly beaten.

Solid Waste Management Company Ltd (SWMCOL) confirmed that they do not collect garbage in that area.

Local criminal syndicate, led by entertainer, on US radar...

'Resourceful high-level operator'

SUNDAY EXPRESS INVESTIGATIVE DESK

A LOCAL CRIMINAL syndicate led by an entertainer from Trinidad with strong connections to gang leaders, athletes and other intermediaries is now on the radar of US law enforcement officials.

Senior intelligence officials say this syndicate is a component of an organised criminal network that has spread its tentacles throughout the Caribbean and the United States, facilitating gunning running, drug trafficking, murder, extortion and money laundering.

In-depth information regarding the entertainer's illegal activities and a thorough examination of his associates are contained in a top-secret report obtained by the Sunday Express. The report was generated by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) in April 2023 following 'several months of surveillance and intelligence gathering', an official said.

According to two senior intelligence officials, a copy of this report has since been handed over to US law enforcement officials.

Officials believe that by involving US law enforcement, they can significantly reduce the illegal gun trade between the US and Trinidad and Tobago, severe a major drug trafficking pipeline, and capture some of the key figures engaged in the illicit operations.

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley visited the US last month and had meetings with senior law enforcement officers from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

On his return, Rowley said in early February at a news conference at Whitehall in Port of Spain, 'We are now attracting elements of international organised crime which is very concerning to the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, so we are discussing this with the United States to get as much help as we can in ensuring that our bad situation is not worsened by these developments...certain criminals are liking us and these are not small-timers.'

'Eccentric, opportunistic and resourceful' A senior intelligence official with knowledge of the report which has been sent to several senior officers in the Trinidad

and Tobago Police Service said, 'This local criminal network is responsible for a major gun-smuggling operation from the US to here and drug trafficking operations with key regional and international players. The influence they wield here with the help of influential gang leaders who are complicit with murder and mayhem makes it even more concerning.'

The official added that this criminal syndicate, assisted by a particular gang, had spread its reach to Antigua, St Kitts, St Vincent, and the British Virgin Islands.

The top secret report about the Trinidadian entertainer said authorities were tracking 'the structure and operation of his network, and association to other networks'.

The entertainer is described as 'eccentric, opportunistic and resourceful. A high-level operator within several criminal gang networks in Trinidad and Tobago. According to individual profile analysis, he is a monetarily motivated opportunistic who strives to establish himself as a legit businessman as a Trinbagonian artiste, singer, and songwriter from (the area called) with links to all police divisions within Trinidad and Tobago. He has a presence in numerous business ventures that run parallel to criminal activities that present significant profits. Information suggests that he is associated with numerous criminal activities as an abettor, accomplice, and perpetrator; these criminal activities include murder, firearm offences, robbery, kidnapping, narcotics trafficking, and extortion...Information suggests that he has ordered several killings and shootings in the past.'

Wiped out on Wrightson Road Reliable police and underworld sources say the entertainer was one of the men responsible for the execution of Wendell Walker, aka Jango, aka Jamal, in his Mercedes-Benz on Wrightson Road in mid-December last year near the Water Taxi Terminal. 'There was a meeting on Tik Tok in November last year with the entertainer, two gang leaders (one in jail), and a Trinidadian man residing in the US who has served time there for drugs and firearms offences with the alias FH. They decided not to record the meeting, but at that meeting, there was a discussion about taking out Jango and another man who had been released from prison in the middle of last year,' said a senior intelligence official.

Intelligence obtained by police also suggests that the entertainer played a role in wiping out other rival gang members in Trinidad in the past, and was also involved in the attempted murder of a man in Grenada last year-whom he considers a rival to his gun-smuggling and drug-trafficking activities in the region.

According to the report, the entertainer grew his criminal empire from scratch. 'Historical intelligence suggests that the entertainer has grown significantly within the criminal world from a simple gang member to a gang leader from (area called) and now has a large following through his music, not only locally but regionally and internationally,' the report stated.

The entertainer has four listed addresses-three along the East-West Corridor and one in the United States where he would stay when he travels there.

Among the other concerning findings in the top-secret report were the entertainer's cohorts and associates, whom police suspect are involved in layered facets of illegal activity.

Criminal map

An intricate map of the criminal network identifies the entertainer as the boss, with two men from South Trinidad bearing the initials RL and TC who are also well-known to law enforcement for their involvement in drug trafficking and gun smuggling, named as important collaborators.

A serving member of the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment (TTR) is also listed as an associate. The soldier is said to have a close relationship with the entertainer and 'had assisted in the training of multiple gang members', according to the report.

A senior police official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said, 'We know the soldier has some kind of involvement in these nefarious activities.'

Three well-known athletes are also prominently displayed on the criminal network map and are identified as associates of the entertainer. An intelligence official said, 'One of them has a boat and the entertainer uses it quite frequently. We are not certain as to what other bidding they do on his behalf, but there are suspicions.'

Based on information in the network map, a boat belonging to another associate of the entertainer was used to retrieve between 30 and 50 weapons in November 2023.

'The men went to collect the weapons from Guiria, Venezuela, on a boat and spotted the Coast Guard and got spooked and dumped the load in the sea and escaped. This was near the North Coast and the Coast Guard divers did try to retrieve the weapons but because of the depth of the water in that area, they were unable to find it,' said the source.

One of the entertainer's close associates was shot

and killed on Ariapita Avenue last year, and a female associate closely aligned with the entertainer conducts various monetary transactions on his behalf, officials said.

According to the report, the woman has several law enforcement officers on the payroll who help to facilitate the illicit trade of guns and drugs flowing in and out of this country. At least 12 other associates are also fingered in the top-secret report, some of whom are also known to the police and have gang-related links.

'This local criminal network is responsible for a major gun-smuggling operation from the US to here and drug trafficking operations with key regional and international players...'
