Ferrari burns after leaving repair shop

A red Ferrari vehicle caught on fire on Saturday morning while traversing along the south-bound lane of the highway in the vicinity of Debe.

Videos and images posted to social media yesterday depicted the vehicle engulfed in flames while at a halt along the highway’s shoulder. After the fire was put out, only the burnt shell of the car remained.

Officers from the Mon Repos Fire Station and police officers responded to the scene.

Debe police confirmed that incident to the Express on Saturday afternoon adding that there were no fatalities and that no one had been seriously injured in the incident.

A report on the fire stated that the vehicle belonged to a Siparia man who told police that he had just collected the vehicle from a repair shop in Point Lisas. He told police that his son, who was driving behind him, informed him that the vehicle was on fire.

The man said that he had pulled to the shoulder and exited the vehicle.
