CSF put out a notice that Customs are detaining all drones coming into the country pending a license from TATT.

I thought you only had to register it for drones over 750g.
This move is because of the drones flying contraband to the prison, so now everybody have to suffer.
If only they could apply a 2.4 GHz 100 meter radius signal jammer around the prison. Set of high level 3 cxc donkey muffler bearings running this place.

Since when does TATT have jurisdiction over drones? Did it change from civil aviation authority?

You are required to have an Equipment Certification for the importation of all telecommunications equipment with a few exceptions such as standard WiFi and Bluetooth.

visit TATT's website, they have all major DJI drones listed , apply for the equipment certification, takes bout a 2 weeks, they kinda lazy in there. When you get it via email, send it to your PO Box or shipping company, and you wld be good to go.

nah so apparently, if you have or dont the equipment cert from tatt to import your drone, customs holding it regardless, and now you wld be required to go into whichever office and clear the drone yourself with id and invoice.

Wonder what applies to instances where someone travels and buys a drone for personal use and brings it back in their luggage when returning to TT?

Suitcase courier ftw or no?

You already know the answer:

Entry through customs is importation. Carry the equipment certification with you so that if the drone, radio, etc., is discovered, you can carry it through.
