As with the legalization of illicit drugs, I doubt it would have any impact on trafficking and the crime situation. In any consecutive governments are already misappropriating tax dollars, you want them to have even more to swindle?

the marijuana comparison is a good one. we legalized the demand side of weed (possession), so demand went up, everybody talking about and smoking weed openly now,

but we kept the supply side illegal so only gangs and drug dealers could supply. gangs and drug dealers getting record profits and you have to wonder if that was the point of it all.

back to prostitution, I think we should decriminalize the supply side so women don't have to fear the police or justice system and can get support when they need it. but keep or even increase the punishment for the demand side so johns and joes will think twice about partaking. without demand the industry will fall.

What you're referring to is the Nordic model where the buyers are punished but not the supplier. To tie in this with some of your posts on gender equality in the Jared thread explain to me how on God's green earth one could ever talk about equality when the male is punished but not the female for the same damn crime?

Except that the Netherlands seems to be in the process eliminating the Red Light District.

Primarily, stigma and drug usage.
Red light district concept won't work here. Simply put, trini gyal have plenty shame. U feel dem want to risk the entire neighborhood where they living getting to find out they renting crotch, kakahole and throat as a side hustle?
But licensing to operate privately, with mandatory controls such as rubbers for all clients m, yeah, they go jump at that.
But to do that, there must also be regular disease testing. Plenty will not comply, because a positive disease test will mean licende revocation or suspension, which would result in no more nanny renting = broke sick hooker

business has never been better but them idiots killing out each with greed
imagine if we had border control so it was harder for the gangs to get the weed imported
it would be even more competitive amongst them and the turf wars would be ever worser

wrt to the decriminalization of marijuana
Freeing up the demand side of the equation didn't actually increase demand. It just made people more relaxed and open about their usage, giving the appearance of an increased demand. Because people that don't smoke weed before decriminalization didn't just get up and say ok now i can possess it without problems I go start smoking it. What it did do however is increase the rate of consumption for habitual users. Thats the only form of increase in demand that was created but it gives the appearance of higher demand and we equate that to more people using.

Would similar happen with sex work if it were legalized? Probably. Or more people would engage. Who knows.

all women, each and every single one. you meet a gyul an allyuh gone on a 'date' an yuh get nanny after but you aint pay she in cash but you buy movie town tickets, starbucks, KFC and spend ah easy $500 for that "date" and she aint spend a cent. a woman knows as they meet you if they will sleep with you or not and if you got tru after that date is cause she accepted all the coffee, movie and kfc as payment otherwise she go say no and pay for she own coffee. apply this info to whatever woman you know and see ALL women prostitute themselves.

30 years ago they could have claimed they getting tricked......

but its been going on too long now for any one to believe they coming here for bartender work and model work.....

i think they know theyre coming as snuggle bunnies but they dont know the full terms of their employment.

if its legalized and have proper brothels.....then they can safely choose where they want to work without abuse and with protection
