Tree touching TTEC lines

Postby daring dragoon » June 12th, 2019, 4:05 am

I have a tree whose branches have grown in between the ttec lines running along the road. I have called ttec many times to have them come and cut as no private contractor wants to cut the tree as it is touching the branches. anyone know if ttec still cuts trees or who can i call to get this cut before the heavy rains come. it reach a point that it pushing the middle ttec wire down, in a good strong breeze i sure they ill touch.

Yes
They cut trees still
They cut by us every few months.
And if you report it, they supposed to attend to ot as they specifically warn ppl against cutting trees that are touching lines.

Make a next report or as to speak to someone in charge

Safe Cutting of Trees

Trees should not be cut if they will fall and damage overhead lines. If the tree is on the customer premises or private property it is the customer’s responsibility to cut and maintain the tree to avoid contact with overhead lines. However if the customer wishes the line to be disconnected before cutting the tree a request should be made to the relevant area office. A nominal fee of $138 is applicable when a service connection to the house has to be disconnected.

Charges are subject to a 12.5% Value Added Tax (VAT)

Report them to the Regulated Industries Commission. It's sometimes necessary to light a fire under their backside...:|

Just tell them you believe one of the tree branches is about to pull down one of the lines and believe you saw electrical sparks from the adjacent transformer during a brief power cut

Call 800-ttec and make a trouble report, get the trouble report number to follow up on... Ttec tries to maintain a 15ft corridor from conductors. If it's a small tree an emergency crew will generally cut it in one time... Larger trees are forwarded to contractors where delays can happen.
