Massy Stores sincerely apologizes to our valued customers for the inconvenience caused today due to technical challenges with our front-end, checkout systems.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, all Massy Stores Supermarkets across the country are affected. These challenges impact our customer shopping experience as items cannot be purchased from our store locations or pharmacies at this time.

The Massy Stores technical team is working assiduously to restore functionality in the shortest possible time, while investigating the root cause of the issue. Customers will be notified when the system is fully restored at all stores.

Surepay and Moneygram customers are also advised to visit alternative locations to access bill payment and wire money transfer services.

Massy Card holders should also retain copies of their bills for which the respective Massy Points will be credited, as points will not be automatically added to Massy Card accounts at this time. Our curbside and delivery services have also been suspended pending the full restoration of the system.

Massy Stores confirms that it was the target of a cybersecurity attack which led to the technical difficulties experienced today at all stores across the country.

The company took immediate action, suspending all customer-facing systems, and has been working with third party experts to resolve the situation. Backup servers were not affected and the technical team is actively working with the expert teams to restore the system safely and in the shortest time possible.

The company is not aware of any evidence at this time that any customer, supplier or employee data has been compromised or misused as a result of the situation. 

Resolution of the incident will take time therefore all Massy Stores Supermarkets will remain closed today (Thursday, April 28th) to allow for its technical team to restore the system in keeping with its security protocols. It is expected that all store locations will resume normal operations from tomorrow (Friday, April 27, 2022).

i surprise they close all stores. the software they use can work 'offline', and when the connection is restored, everything is synced. but then again they wont be able to get a read out when a cashier's shift is done.

anyway, could imagine how much money they loss today.

If it's a ransomware attack, the software has probably encrypted the contents of the hard disk rendering it unusable until the ransomware key is entered.

why all the beat up over massy ? 90% of you all cant even afford to pay the 50cents for the plastic bag much less shop in massy stores. a govt controlled ISP and Phone provider get hit with ransomware that cripple certain functions about a month ago and no one bat an eye and all of you have a green cell and you beating up over massy when you cant afford an apple inside dey.
