Up to 18 August 2021, the MHRA had received Yellow Card reports of 417 cases of major thromboembolic events (blood clots) with concurrent thrombocytopenia (low platelet counts) in the UK following vaccination with COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca. Forty four of the 417 reports have been reported after a second dose. Of the 417 reports, 210 occurred in women, and 203 occurred in men aged from 18 to 93 years. The overall case fatality rate was 17% with 72 deaths, six of which occurred after the second dose.

Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis was reported in 149 cases (average age 46 years) and 268 had other major thromboembolic events (average age 54 years) with concurrent thrombocytopenia. The estimated number of first doses of COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca administered in the UK by 18 August was 24.8 million and the estimated number of second doses was 23.9 million.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... -reporting

The only real reason to 'fear' the vaccine is the blood clots following AZ. Unsure of Pfizer/Moderna/Sinopharm though J&J is supposedely similar to AZ.

Apparently, this isn't being covered up, but all the deaths everybody seem to know about in Trindiad are being covered up by our extremely competant authorities.

So the fatality rate in in the UK was 72 in 24.8 million people vaccinated, with AZ which is about 1 in 350,000.

The total number of thromboembolic events is 417, which gives about a 1 in 60,000 chance of this type of event.

For perspective, that's compared 1 in 7 chance being hospitalised with Covid and the 1 in 35 chance (based on local stats) for dying from covid.

So chance of dying from the vaccine is roughly 1750 times LESS than dying from covid.

Love how you guys do risk assessment.

You have offered no alternative effective solution to a vaccination.

Constantly highlighting the half-dozen local adverse reactions to vaccination or finding the two cases ruled death as a consequence worldwide is interesting but is not a solution.

Compare the number of children admitted to hospitals for treatment to the more than 20,000 that have been vaccinated. How many were admitted from vaccinations?

Damned pandemic

THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY

BC PIRES

SOMETIMES it’s a blessing to be out of Trinidad when you get some Trinidadian news. Like this week, when my editor told me there were 800K vaccine doses in the country – but no one wants them.

When you hear something like this, you stop dead in your tracks. Then you pick your jaw up from off the floor and ask the person who told you to say it again because you want to look for the smile when they repeat it.

But it’s no joke.

Even being Trinidadian yourself, and understanding the intricate inner workings of our stupidity, you baulk at this hurdle. You can handle regular self-interest Trini stupidity, like when Abu Bakr commanded “the people” to rise up and help him – and they rose up and helped themselves to Michael-waves, fancy blended “Scutch” and flat-screen TVs.

But Trini self-abnegation out of pure firetrucking ignorance you refuse.

No! I said. Not possible!

Nurses, said my editor, are refusing the jab. And police and prison officers.

Picked jaw up again, asked for repeat.

Still no smile.

When you’ve got past denial, you move to anger.

If I were in Trinidad, you think, I would burn the place to the ground because it doesn’t deserve to exist.

But then, thankfully, you can skip all the other stages of grief and move straight to the ultimate Trinidadian cure-all: comedy.

No sense burning the place to the ground.

They’ll be doing it themselves in a few months.

It’s true and entirely predictable.

Without 80 to 90 per cent uptake of the vaccine, the virus will press on with its mission, which is to perfect itself so that the vaccines these stupid, ignorant people are scorning now will become less effective. With 400K adults refusing even a single shot in a population as small as ours, the delta or boris variant will run riot and build on its own strengths in a geometric progression. The epsilon variant may well come out of Morvant-Laventille, or some other tightly packed Trinidadian community, where people live on top of one another and look from their kitchen windows into the neighbour’s bedroom, like Westmoorings town houses.

What is wrong with these people, you ask yourself? Don’t they see the CNN and BBC and Al-Jazeera stories that make it clearer by the day that this damned pandemic is now the pandemic of the unvaccinated? Don’t they see the doctors making a candlelight vigil to draw attention to Florida having more covid19 deaths than anywhere else in the world? Don’t they see the thugs in the American school board meetings threatening to beat people who want to wear masks?

Of course they don’t.

They’re not watching the world’s independent media.

They’re watching Fox News.

And WhatsApp videos.

And reading the Facebook posts of people who would not pass chemistry CXC and reposting angrily about their right not to wear a mask and their right to take horse worm medicine being taken away.

The hard, sad truth is that the anti-vaxxers aren’t clever enough to realise they’re being made fools of. And they all ratify one another in a belief that, though they are stupid, they are actually clever. This is why they shout “sheeple” at people who try to correct them: because, at the back of their minds, they know they are not Albert Einstein.

So the pandemic will rage amongst the unvaccinated, who will have the most deaths – probably statistically the only deaths – and the Government will have to spend all its time and energy trying to figure out if it can and whether it should make vaccination mandatory.

And while that is happening, the stupid anti-vaxxers, clinging to their “research” and their horse worm medicine, will get sick and die.

And the poor people of the country, who need the economy to reopen more desperately than anyone else, will get poorer and more desperate.

And they will riot.

Burning and looting tonight.

And they will blame the Government for failing them.

Because they are too stupid to realise that they have failed the Government, the country and the rest of the citizenry.

We have 800K doses of vaccine in the country, the only thing that gives us a chance of coming out of this nightmare.

And no one wants them.

Well, good for all you.

This is no longer a damned pandemic.

It is a pandemic of the damned.

Alot of beat up and frothing over other people actions, if people making the choice not to take such, that's their choice just as the vaccinated made their choice to take the shot, the unvaccinated took their choice not to.

Obviously they would find something to shift the blame on instead of sheer incompetence. We have a population smaller than some companies worldwide and cannot manage? Or is it that we are being played, create a problem, and sell us the solution or we are doomed! Doomed I say!

it's a choice that impacts everyone- if 1 of them is family u would be worried about them.

if hospitals are overrun by them with covid it impacts healthcare to everyone else.

if there are more lockdowns it affects all businesses and employees who can't feed their families.

Fact of the matter is you will never get 100 percent fully vaccinated....there is no herd Immunity that is a myth....so that other percentage Realistically being 30 or 40 percent will still be a threat if you view them as such

Obviously they would find something to shift the blame on instead of sheer incompetence. We have a population smaller than some companies worldwide and cannot manage? Or is it that we are being played, create a problem, and sell us the solution or we are doomed! Doomed I say!
You two don't seem to understand that you just reinforced the poster's point.

You two don't seem to understand that you just reinforced the poster's point.
All of these arguments that you are attempting to make are old and haggard.

Ironically, you use examples of successes from the past where these same arguments where made against these same proposed methods.

You just don't know it.

COVID-19 anti-vaxxers use the same arguments from 135 years ago

Odds of dying if infected with covid is 2% (in T&T it's 2.9%)
Odds of dying from a covid vaccine is 0.0018%
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/

That's more than 1000x more likely to die from Covid than from the vaccine. (1500x in T&T)

The site is valid. The story about the teenager probably valid as well.

T&T Schoolboy diagnosed with Pericarditis after receiving first dose of Pfizer Vaccine

Vaccines in arms, much totally unknown

Parents turn victim to a child’s sorrowful moan.

On Wednesday 18 August 2021, a healthy 17-year-old schoolboy took his first shot of the Pfizer vaccine. Two days later he began to suffer from what his father described as “tightness in his chest.” On Saturday 21 August the tightness of his chest worsened to the point of hospitalization. The boy’s father, who wished to keep himself and his family anonymous, told 868 Media that “by 11:00 p.m. on Saturday,” his son was “taken to Westshore Medical where he was diagnosed with Pericarditis, which is inflammation of the outer lining of the heart.”

The now concerned father can only tie the Pericarditis with the vaccine saying, “the problem only began 2 days after taking the vaccine. Prior to this he has had no medical issues.”

This case is not unique to this young Trini individual. Cases of people being diagnosed with Pericarditis after receiving the Pfizer vaccine are happening globally. In a news article published on Aug 26, 2021 “A Channel 7 journalist [Denham Hitchcock] in Australia was hospitalized with pericarditis after receiving the Pfizer vaccine.” The CDC said in June that “since April 2021, there have been more than a thousand reports to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) of cases of inflammation of the heart—called myocarditis and pericarditis—happening after mRNA COVID-19 vaccination (i.e., Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna) in the United States.”

The father of the secondary schooler (who is now approaching form 5 in one of Trinidad’s public schools) said both himself and his wife were “very uneasy about vaccinating their children.” We had no idea of the possible long-term effects of the vaccines and their bodies are still developing.” However, granted the amount of pro-vax statements coming from the mainstream media and the apparently credible medical organizations like the WHO they allowed their son to take the vaccine for school purposes.

When asked if the secondary school demanded their son be vaccinated in order to continue his intellectual development, the father said there was no formal demand made by the school to have their son vaccinated. However, he said weeks before his son took the vaccine, “all parents of the school were notified that the vaccine had to be taken.”

When asked whether his position on the Covid19 vaccines has since changed due to the personal experience, the troubled father said he is now confused regarding the efficacy of the vaccines and is not sure if he should vaccinate his other children. His wife however said the experience has changed her view on the vaccine and that it “solidified for her that she DOES NOT want her other children to take this vaccine.”

“I know that it is a parent’s decision to vaccinate their children but I wanted to share our current experience so others are aware of the possible side effects. I DO NOT agree with this government’s plan to force vaccinate children. No government has the right and should NOT take away a parent’s right to make decisions for the well-being of their children. They do not know our children’s medical histories or anything related to our children. We as parents know what is best for our children. If anything were to happen to them by forcing us to do this, who will be held liable?”
The father continued.

The concerned father has since stated about Pericarditis that “when you research it, they say after treatment that patients usually return to their normal lives. So far my son has done a few tests on his heart and has another to do on Monday 30, 2021.

“Thus far all tests show that my son’s heart is okay but we don’t know if there will be any long-term damages. There is no guarantee on this. I would like to know that if we are forced to give him the second shot and something happens due to this experience the first time around if the government will be held liable for this?

Whether there are low statistics on side effects as such or not, no one should have to go through this with their child or see them in pain due to something that really has no guarantee. People can say as they feel about Science or statistics but when it is your own child you will feel different and question a lot.”

As of today, they have not reached out to any government or state entity in relation to the matter.

May God Bless our Nation!

What is Pericarditis?

Pericarditis is frequently mild and may clear up on its own with rest or simple treatment. Sometimes, more intense treatment is needed to prevent complications.

Recovery time from pericarditis may vary depending on the type of condition and the patient’s health. Consultation with a health care professional can determine this.

Causes of pericarditis

The cause of pericarditis is often unknown, though viral infections are a common reason. Pericarditis may occur after a respiratory or digestive system infection.

Chronic and recurring pericarditis may be caused by autoimmune disorders such as lupus, scleroderma and rheumatoid arthritis. These are disorders in which the body’s immune system makes antibodies that mistakenly attack the body’s tissues or cells.

Would you subject that to child though? It is mild for adults but children aren't supposed to have heart issues that's not mild or normal
