Supposed to be good. Price reflects it.
You have an old and need to replace or need an additional one?

I just refurbished a unit over 40yrs at best. Had to cut the shaft and use a bigger seal. Got a polyurethane u cup and changed all other o ring seals.
Works excellent. From the pitted shaft my opinion is keep away from weather and like any other equipment having oil inside, change depending on how often you use.
And always when jacked up, use jack stands.

I don't even trust jackstands. One lil cast iron tooth doesn't inspire confidence. I always throw a couple tyres under the car in addition to jackstands, especially after that harbor freight fiasco
I should probably get some with the pins instead...

yup
big read really isn't commercial grade. It's more like one step above HS
Kinda like buying price smart tools....decent for occasional use, but when you really start digging into your car, you start wishing for SnapOn, or even Craftsman

What's a good cutting compound to remove 2500grit wet sand marks. I know I'll get laughed at for buying a consumer ultimate compound, it does okay but you can still see the scratch marks. Or is it the cheap pads I used with the DA that I bought for 60US (I imagine those are pretty much sponge), maybe a combo of the two? I'm leaning more towards the compound because I tried some 3M compound I had sitting a while now and it seems to work better since the pad is actually getting dirty and the marks are less noticeable.

automotive application?
A good paint shop should be able to advise you
But sounds like you def need a light cutting compound

Yes on my car, tried my hand at painting it, came out ok-ish but the clear got a little to much orange peel for me.

Orange peel needs to be cut with a heavy cut compound. 3M has a good heavy cut compound, but then you also need to right pad such as a microfiber pad. The consumer grade compound is not aggressive enough, and with good reason.

Meguiars has a good heavy cut compound. Check the 110 compound.

With a lower end DA you need to use a more aggressive pad/compound combo to compensate for the smaller throw.

Orange pad with Meguiars 105 followed by white pad with 205. I have used Mothers rubbing compound to great effect on 2500 scratches but it takes a while. Uro fiber pads work wonders but not available locally.

This is with Mothers and an Orange pad on 2000 scratches but with a rotary. The DA takes much longer. Good compounds not available in small quantities locally unfortunately.

What about the diamond papers the optical places use for making glasses lens ?
They are super fine and we’ll get glass finish
They come like stickers on a roll

Or depending on size, old truck tyre retreads can be cut and shaped to suit.

i never seen that sold in tubes like how the silicone is sold, will check.

Its being squeezed into a mold to make the shape.
