It all depends on the particular problem that your facing..

whether its a tumor or an aneurysm or a baby
Different tumor locations in the head actually would be better done by different neurosurgeons..
There are also some that treat aneurysms by open surgery as opposed to endovascular...
then theres neuro-spine related
All based on the specifics of the problem...and more importantly the fortes of the surgeon..
Of course the opinion on the dr in the private sector can be easily swayed by their own forte.

Different private neurosurgeons are reportedly better than others at particular things...
Ive seen the results of alot of them on a wide range of problems..

Theres no 1 neurosurgeon to rule them all currently...
and in a first world setting thats just not how its done

Whats the opinion required about?

Bumping this thread for some info for myself. Specifics can be provided if required. I have been to two orthopedic surgeons with similar diagnosis. Thinking that a neurosurgeon might be better suited for my situation. It's Lower back related

Narine at West shore. Great guy who genuinely loves his job and knows his stuff. I would recommend him with my eyes closed.
Avoid ramcharan. Wam bam thank you mam kinda doctor. If that doesn't bother u I guess he can work for u.

Exactly why I'm looking for someone who I can have confidence. Imagine u visiting a dr for results and diagnosis after doing ct and MRI and he spends all of five minutes telling u that surgery is required. No real attention to detail. And his assistant told me to schedule another appointment to discuss questions. Wtf. To pay an additional visit fee

Narine is the boss. I find so and I picky about doctors. Call west shore and make an appointment.

Yea no problem. I know how stressful going through these kinda things could be. Was my gf who I had to see about and it was hard.

Good luck.

Spann is pretty good. Both my mother and father goes to him and up to last week Friday my mother did a surgery with him for carpal something or the other.

Dr. Spann is a boss but for them wait times he does have you waiting........gosh. RSpann he's your brother? Ask him to set up a proper appointment system nah.

It's not the appointment system, he is usually booked six to nine months in advance because of the number of cases he sees. LOL at men on tuner who"reviews his work".

If not Dr Robert Ramcharan is my pick for Spine...
and honestly Span is not my first pick for spinal issues...

Also note that you CAN look at an MRI of a spine and know someone needs surgery...
Just because it was done in 5 minutes doesn't mean its haphazard. Somethings are obvious.

Understand that given the skill they can diagnose in five minutes. Was talking about giving a patient news that surgery is recommended and not taking the time to explain properly the steps required going forward.

Spann and Mahadeo are good. I personally know people who went to them with serious issues and today they are 100% normal.

I noticed no one mentioned Dr. Henry Bedaysie and this scholarly hot shot from SFGH and GVMC, Dr. Nadeem Hosein.
